We are not having a traditional wedding reception in Colorado. Instead, we have a cocktail hour on site of the ceremony location, followed by dinner at Chart House Restaurant. We rented out part of the restaurant as well as the patio. Instead of after-dinner dancing, picture after-dinner lounging by the fire with us! We will be having a more traditional reception back in Cleveland.
The dress code is semi-formal. Please check the weather in advance! September in Colorado is known to have large temperature fluctuations from day to night. *A note about shoes* The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place on grass, so I wouldn't recommend a skinny high heel. It's also a farm, so feel free to wear your cowboy boots!
Of course.
The farm has porta-potties on site, but Bre said there is no way she is using a porta-potty in her wedding dress...and that's a fair point. We rented a mobile restroom trailer.
The restaurant is committed to accommodating allergies and dietary restrictions. Please inform Bre as soon as possible.
The ceremony parking is in a gravel lot and requires walking over grass to the location. I'm told that for guests with limited mobility, they can drive over the grass and be dropped off closer to the ceremony location. There is plenty of bench seating available. The cocktail hour seating is more limited but there will be some available. The restaurant has a large parking lot close by.
The ceremony location has a large gravel lot that is a short walk to the ceremony spot. The dinner location has a large parking lot.
Short answer: no. Long answer: this was the bane of our existence for months. Because Black Hawk only has casino hotels, not your traditional hotel chains, everything became more difficult. In the end, the hotels that were willing to give us blocks either had dingy rooms, or were going to charge more to book in the block than if you were to book outside of the block, which made no sense to us.
We hope our guests will be able to spend some extra time exploring this state we love so much, but if you can only come in for the weekend, that totally works! Tommy and Bre will be in Black Hawk from 9/15-9/21. We'll be around, but we'll have a lot of wedding prep to do every day leading up to the wedding. If you plan on staying a while, check out the "Things To Do" tab.
Travel is expensive, time-consuming, and a big commitment. We will not be offended in any way, shape, or form if you choose not to attend for any reason. Please know our invitation has no expectations.
There will not be a wedding party. We understand that destination weddings are a lot, and we didn't want to pressure anyone into feeling like they were required to come because they were in the wedding party. Also, we are inviting such a limited number of guests, it's like you're all a part of our wedding party!
