Hike the M trail, which takes you on 10-plus switchbacks 620 feet above the valley floor. Go a mile farther to reach the top of Mt. Sentinel for a spectacular view. The trailhead is easily accessible on the University of Montana campus. Distance: 3/4 mile to 'M' and 1 and 3/4 miles to top of Mount Sentinel
This favorite spot of ours is in Flathead Valley and Missoula! Visit the town of Lakeside for some truly awesome IPAs. Tamarack Brewing Co. is an excellent option for grabbing a burger and a beer out on the creekside patio or sitting by the fire with a flavorful brew.
Ninepipe National Wildlife Refuge is a birder’s dream come true. More than 200 species can be seen at this wildlife refuge on the shores of Ninepipe Reservoir including nesting great blue herons and short-eared owls. It’s located along Hwy. 93 between Missoula and Kalispell near Charlo. Afterward, walk over to Ninepipes Lodge where you can eat at the Allentown Restaurant on the property. Along with serving great breakfasts, lunches and dinners, this lovely restaurant with huge windows gives you mesmerizing views of Mount Harding and the Mission Mountains. In a separate building, you’ll find Great Gray Gifts, a store that sells everything from Montana-made jewelry, wild huckleberry jam and leather messenger bags to water bottles and sweatshirts.
Located nine miles from the west entrance of Glacier National Park, HUNGRY HORSE, MONTANA claims fame as the wild huckleberry capital of the West. This sweet tart wild berry grows only in moist mountain areas and cannot be commercially grown. Wild berries are not sprayed with chemicals or fertilizers. Berries are hand picked when ripe and processed without artificial colors, flavorings or corn syrup. "Vaccinium" huckleberries are blue-black or blue-reddish, depending upon soil and habitat and grows on a slender shrub 2 - 6 feet high. Berry pickers hike into wilderness areas to secure berries for our cannery. We take great pride in presenting our delicious assortment of wild huckleberry jams, jellies preserves, topping, syrups and pie fillings

Mary Frances Caselli started Mrs. Wonderful in Northwest Montana back in 2009. Mary Frances created her own sea salt blends using fresh herbs from her garden. The combination of fresh organic herbs mixed with French grey Celtic sea salt® raised her culinary skills to a new level and she began a quest to share with others her love of great food, wine and entertaining. After years of sharing her sea salt herbal blends with family and friends, she took her wares to the local farmers market. There, she sells her Mrs. Wonderful salt blends as well as fabulous rustic Italian bread and Polish walnut pastries. The restaurant can be slow for service but they serve delicious dinners and even have a weekly pizza night!
