Packing List

We know that this may be the first time some of you are leaving the country so we put together a list of things to remember to pack!

Passport

Important!

In order to pass through customs, you must present a valid passport that does not expire for at least 6 months after your arrival.

UK ETA

Important!

An electronic travel authorisation (ETA) lets you travel to the UK for tourism, visiting family or certain other reasons for up to 6 months. It costs £16 to apply online or through the UK ETA app. You cannot get a refund after you apply. You’ll need: - The passport you’ll travel with - An email address - A credit card, debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay - When you apply, you’ll need to upload or take photos of the face of the person applying. Copy and paste this link to apply for your UK ETA through the app: https://apply-for-an-eta.homeoffice.gov.uk/apply/electronic-travel-authorisation/easier-on-the-app

Credit Cards

Important!

Make sure you alert your bank of your upcoming foreign travel so you don't run into issues when using your cards. Scotland is very credit card friendly so be sure to see what your foreign exchange rate will be with your banks. PNC charges a $5 fee for all ATM transactions.

International Phone Coverage

Important

Make sure to call your cell phone carrier and add international coverage for calls and wifi! You wouldn't want to be without your cell phone! Some carriers offer a daily rate and others offer a monthly pass.

Charging Adaptor

Important!

UK outlets are not the same as US. There are adapters on Amazon for around $20. For anyone wanting to bring hot hair tools, please make sure that your tools are dual-voltage!

Rain Coat

Important!

Even though we're going in the summer months, Scotland's weather can be very unpredictable. You should pack a rain jacket/waterproof jacket just incase we get caught in the rain!

Comfortable Shoes

Important!

We will be doing A LOT of walking! Please make sure that your shoes are comfortable, supportive and maybe even water proof! (Nobody likes wet socks)

Reusable Water Bottles

Convenient!

Scotland has some of the best drinking water so be sure to bring a reusable water bottle to take with us on long days!

Scotland Explorer Pass

Convenient!

Many of Scotland's historic castles are privately owned and will require an admission fee. However, castles apart of the National Trust are owned by the government and can be entered for free with the purchase of an Explorer Pass. In fact, Stirling Castle, Doune, Blackness, Edinburgh Castle, Linlithgow Palace, St. Andrews Castle, St. Andrews Cathedral and others are all included with the explorer pass. Here is the link to purchase your summer pass. (Summer dates may not be available for purchase just yet so keep an eye on the website. Lauren and Josh will send out a reminder as well) https://www.historicenvironment.scot/visit-a-place/

Wedding Attire

Important!

Please bring one nice outfit to wear on July 11th! No formal gowns or suits necessary, just a pair of khakis and a button down shirt or a sun dress would be perfect for the magical photos we will be taking on our wedding day! Here is a Pinterest Mood Board for some ideas: https://pin.it/cdqTmTA8e
