River Forest Manor
The place we're getting married of course! Built at the turn of the century, the River Forest Manor is a timeless piece of history and one of the most beautiful places on the water. Construction began in 1899 by John Aaron Wilkinson, whose vision came to life in 1904 with intricate oak mantles, ornate ceilings crafted by Italian artisans, and breathtaking details in every room. Decades later, the Smith family turned the manor into a warm and welcoming inn, carrying on its legacy of Southern charm and hospitality. It’s truly a magical place! We hope you take a moment to wander the grounds and inside the Manor to see why we fell in love with it.
Spoon River Artworks and Market
Just steps from the Pungo River, Spoon River is a locally owned gem in the heart of Belhaven. This farm-to-fork restaurant combines fresh, local ingredients with an artful twist on American dishes, served in a cozy, elegant setting. It’s the perfect spot for a glass of wine, a romantic dinner, or a taste of the town’s charm.
Belhaven Marina
Just behind the Manor sits the River Forest Marina, a haven for boaters and cruisers for more than 70 years. Overlooking the Pungo River, it’s the perfect spot to take a peaceful walk, watch the boats drift in, or catch a gorgeous sunset. We recommend stopping by before the wedding. It’s one of the most beautiful views in Belhaven.
