Our Story

We met during our radiology program, both part of the same close-knit friend group that quickly became family. At first, we were just classmates, one of us (guess who?) a little quieter than the other. But as we studied late into the nights, navigated clinicals, and leaned on each other through the intensity of school, we found ourselves spending almost every moment together. Everything shifted one afternoon after clinicals, sitting in the In-N-Out drive-through, when Brandon admitted he had feelings. Not long after, we went on our first date, to the science museum (where Brandon had gotten us trapped in the parking garage). It was awkward, hilarious, and somehow the perfect beginning. Some of the people who walked that journey with us are even in our wedding. There’s something about working in medicine that creates an unspoken bond. We’ve seen the kind of moments that stay with you. Some beautiful, some heartbreaking, and we’ve found comfort in having someone by our side who truly understands the emotional weight of what we do. After graduation, we started our careers at different hospitals. One of us at a trauma facility, the other at a clinical site that already felt like home. Eventually, we both ended up at the same major hospital, and while we work in different departments, we still share the same world in diagnostic imaging. We may seem like opposites, Naomi is the loud, extroverted one, and Brandon is the calm, quiet type, but we balance each other in all the best ways. We laugh so hard we feel like we’re going to pass out, and we’ve become each other’s best friend. Even our cultural differences have only brought us closer. Brandon has embraced Naomi’s South American roots with open arms. You might even catch him singing along to Reggaeton or Cumbia in the car, despite 12 years of Spanish classes in high school and zero fluency. In October 2024, Brandon proposed on the rooftop of a boutique hotel in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. But the day didn’t exactly go as planned. Earlier that morning, Naomi took a dramatic tumble off a bike and was convinced she broke her leg. Brandon was completely panicked, more than he probably should have been—which, in hindsight, was a major clue that something big was about to happen. That evening, everything came together. The staircase was lined with candles and red roses, the view was breathtaking, the food was some of the best we’ve ever had, and Brandon proposed with a ring from the same jeweler his dad used to propose to his mom. It was thoughtful, beautiful, and perfectly us. We’ve built our relationship on laughter, long shifts, inside jokes, and an unshakable friendship. We never expected it, but somehow, the quiet kid and the loud one ended up writing the best story together. And now, we can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter with all of you. With love, Naomi & Brandon
