Hannah’s perspective: I was having a fun night out with my girlfriend, being single and enjoying some drinks at this small bar by my parents house. My friend and I were approached by these two guys and after a couple hours of hanging out and closing time came, we were invited to an after party. Being adventurous and feeling like the night wasn’t over, we decided to go. We enjoyed our time but said good night after an hour or so. The next night, one of those guys texted my friend and asked if we wanted to come over again. We almost said no but decided that we had nothing better to do. So, I’m walking through the door of this house party with my friend and lo and behold, I see Brandon sitting on the couch. We had known of each other since middle school, mainly because we knew the same people or hung around the same crowd. We had never actually interacted more than that (although I always thought he was cute). The first words that left Brandon’s mouth were “how do you know my cousin?” and I remember thinking “okay fate, I see you”. So I decided right at that moment that I was going to make him my boyfriend. Brandon’s perspective: One Saturday night I ended up driving over to my cousin's house because he told me he “met some hot girls at the pub the other night”. Going over to his house, I was not expecting anything much but a fun hangout with my cousin. Well, when they showed up it turns out I knew both of them. Hannah and I met informally in middle school/high school. Hannah was hanging out the night before with a friend that I knew as well at a local pub. Hannah and her friend met my cousin Aaron randomly that night and they had no idea he was my cousin and I had no idea it was them that he met. It was a huge coincidence!
Hannah’s perspective: Well 6 1⁄2 years holds a lot of moments! There are so many late night waffle house dates, fishing/camping trips, and random karaoke bar memories throughout the years. But my favorites are at-home pajama movie dates, watching Sunday morning spongebob episodes and our constant competitions (that I usually win) ranging from darts, to guitar hero, to a game of basketball. And, of course, every annual Disneyland trip we take! Brandon’s perspective: I would say our camping trip to Kaibab lake, going to universal studios and Disneyland for our anniversary, her surprising me with a sedona trip for my birthday in the first three months of us dating, and our weekly sushi & movie dates!
Hannah’s perspective: For me, it was after a year. When we moved in together actually. He had a late job at the time and I was in my first year of teaching so our sleep schedules were total opposites. For background, I am able to fall asleep anywhere. In the car, on a plane, laying in a park with the sun shining down, literally anywhere. But those nights when he stayed late at work, were some of the worst nights of sleep I’ve ever had. I physically could not relax if he wasn’t in the house. I realized that Brandon was as much a part of my life as sleep was now. Brandon’s perspective: I realized that Hannah was made for me in so many ways. She is the best part of me and makes me better. When I quoted a random spongebob episode one day she finished the quote. She knew almost as much spongebob as me and that’s impressive. When I truly believed it was forever was when we got out of town together for one of the first times. She took me up to Sedona and we had the most romantic time. She surprised me with a birthday trip to Out of Africa. Best trip ever and she stole my heart. She thinks she got what she wants. Truth be told, I’m the lucky one.
