Connor and Brandon’s journey began over three years ago on Hinge, where a shared sense of humor and a love for adventure sparked their connection. After two months of texting while Connor was deep in bar exam prep, they finally met for their first date along the picturesque river in Columbus. Connor was charmed when Brandon surprised her by bringing a bowl of water for her beloved dog, Jackson, and Brandon was enamored by Connor’s stories. Despite Connor thinking the date went wonderfully, Brandon later confessed he was a bit taken aback by the intensity of their political discussions. When Brandon had to cancel their second date at the last minute due to work commitments, Connor feared she’d been ghosted—after all, two months of texting can feel like a long time! Luckily, fate (and modern technology) intervened: Brandon found her on Instagram, and they continued their connection. Their relationship truly began with unforgettable dates in Albany before Brandon was deployed again. Connor’s friends witnessed the transformation of the “Army guy from Hinge” into the love of her life, and Brandon’s friends heard a recap of every phone call. Over the next few months, they became experts at FaceTime dates, finding ways to stay close despite the distance. When Brandon returned, Connor introduced him to her large, boisterous family, kicking off an incredible welcome-home celebration. Connor was also introduced to Brandon’s fun, albeit quite a bit smaller, family soon after! Since then, their families have grown close and even survived a Columbus Christmas together. After enduring a year of viruses (with Brandon proving his devotion in sickness and in health), Connor realized he was the one she wanted to marry. Their first big challenge came when they moved into a surprise third-floor storage unit in the sweltering heat, but they navigated it all with laughter and teamwork. Through constant trips back and forth and long, heartfelt talks during their Albany date nights and Columbus four-day weekends, Brandon realized he didn’t need to wait for the “in sickness and in health” moment to know that Connor was the one he wanted to marry. Their new family finally reached its current form with the addition of Obi-Wan Harbin-McAndrew, their adorable pup who has more than enough personality for the whole family. Together, they’ve explored the world, biking from Paris to Normandy, enjoying romantic getaways in the Dominican Republic and Key West, and growing a world-class (in their opinion) garden that has set a strong foundation for a lifetime of memories. Though they are already legally married, they can’t wait to celebrate their love with all their favorite friends and family!
