EXT. NEW YORK CITY STREET - NIGHT (2008) After three months, the writer’s strike has ended and Tina Fey just finished hosting the first Saturday Night Live show back on air. As if the young twenty-somethings needed more excitement to attend their first SNL after-after party of the year. A few of the yuppies speak the secret password and stumble into the bar. DISSOLVE TO: INT. GROSS DARK BAR - NIGHT We escape the February winter air for the warmth of cheap spirits and close dancing. NBC Pages and friends and their friends of friends drink and dance like there is not a looming Great Recession. BRANDON, tall, dark and handsome, visiting from Virginia suavely plays the Photo Hunt picture game at the bar with his FRIEND. DJ RECORD SCRATCH Brandon spots the beautiful, curly haired Italian-Connecticutian ANGELA getting down to Flo Rida’s current chart topper, ‘Low.’ BRANDON (under his breath) Whoa. Look at her. BRANDON’S FRIEND You hear about this Obama guy? Brandon ignores his friend and locks eyes with Angela. They make their way towards one another past the throngs of young partiers. ANGELA Hi, I’m Ang. BLACK OUT. INT. NYC APARTMENT - NIGHT (2020) Brandon is on his couch thinking about the third week of the SARS‑CoV‑2 lockdown, mindlessly scrolling through the Instagram App. We see a picture of Angela with her face painted like a tiger for some reason. Brandon wonders about the current status of this long lost crush and then sends her the ‘surprised guy face’ emoji. CUT TO: INT. NORWALK, CT APARTMENT - SAME TIME Ang’s phone buzzes with ‘surprised guy face’ emoji from this mystery man from her past. ANGELA (to herself) This guy has been reacting like a weirdo to all of my instagram posts for weeks, now. What’s his deal? She decides to finally respond. ANGELA (text) Hope you’re staying safe! FADE TO: MONTAGE OF THE YOUNG COURTSHIP Brandon and Ang text back and forth and smiling and giggling like little babies. The two in their distant homes press play at the same time on a movie and text throughout. They watch a new movie every few weeks. Brandon picks bad movies and Ang pics decent movies. Brandon checks his phone and smiles that Ang has texted him. Ang checks her phone and Brandon hasn’t texted and she’s sad, but then he texts and she smiles and she's happy. After a few months Brandon visits Norwalk and they both realize this is going to be their home together… FADE TO: EXT. NORWALK COVE - EVENING (SEPTEMBER 2, 2023) As dusk begins to settle on a perfect sunny and 75 degree day, the newlywed couple embrace and look out at all of their family and friends gathered together to celebrate their love. They’re unbelievably grateful for their journey and that everything had to happen for a reason for them to find each other after twelve years apart. Tina Fey thanks the couple for the invitation and eats another passed hors devours. The band starts playing ‘Low’ by Flo Rida. FADE TO BLACK.
