Hands down the best concha we've ever had! If you don't know what a concha is, do yourself a favor and come here to taste one of these sweet Mexican pastries. Plus, it's right next door to Molino "El Pujol" if you want to check off two of our recommended spots at once.
This is the In-N-Out of tacos! They have a small menu that's packed with big flavor. We highly recommend the tacos de chicharron. The line can get pretty long at night, so come during the day or visit one of their other locations in Mexico City if needed!
"Tortas" may be in their name, but Tortas al Fuego is home to our favorite tacos al pastor in the city. It's extremely unassuming (think plastic chairs and tables on the sidewalk), but come prepared to eat your heart out.
For the art + architecture lover, this is an incredible museum with free admission! When you're done exploring the Soumaya private collection, you can walk across the plaza to Museo Jumex and also take a lunch break at Eno.
You can spend a half-day exploring the ruins of the ancient city Teotihuacan, located about an hour outside of Mexico City. It's said to be "the birthplace of the gods" and is home to the Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon, and the Temple of Quetzalcóatl (the Feathered Serpent). It's easiest to arrive by Uber.
Pulque is a lightly alcoholic smoothie-like drink made from fermented agave sap. Pulqueria los Insurgentes is a 3-floor (plus a rooftop) bar where you can try pulque in a variety of daily flavors.
If you don't think you like mezcal, one drink from La Clandestina will change your mind. In addition to their amazing cocktails, we love this bar's moody and intimate vibe. Make sure to check out the jugs of mezcal as you walk in!
