Short version of the story: Brandi almost didn't go on a blind date with Sam... Now they're getting married! Long version: Brandi was at a social gathering for the day. Though Brandi had been very casually thinking of dating, she did not think this day's events would lead to something serious! A friend of Brandi's mentioned that her boyfriend at the time had a couple of guys in mind for Brandi to date, one of which was a fellow coworker of his (enter Sam into story). Brandi, with the help of a few adult beverages, thought it'd be a great idea to get Sam's phone number and started texting him! Over the next few weeks, Brandi and Sam texted back and forth, though Sam would say that Brandi would take days to reply (sorry Sam lol). A blind date was arranged at Willy McCoys of all places - a date that Brandi decided she would in fact attend merely hours before it was supposed to happen! After their blind date, they continued dating even as Sam recovered from a serious broken arm and Brandi was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, all within the first 6 months of their relationship. Four years later, they are thrilled that Brandi didn't end up skipping their blind date and are excited to marry each other!
