Short answer: Brandi was Mattie's Resident Assistant at Chaminade. However, we have different stories... Mattie's version: My roommates got the suite in trouble getting Resident advisors to investigate our room on two nights consecutively. Brandi was stern yelling at the roommates to shut up and separate which her authoritative and strong demeanor peaked my interest. Brandi's version: Mattie came to one of Brandi's hall programs (movie & s'mores). We started talking about movies and Mattie brought up that he had a lot of movies stored and we should hang out to watch some.

We started dating in 2015.

Mattie took Brandi to Leavenworth for a weekend to see the tree lighting. He initially planned to propose during the tree lighting but was unable due to the crowd. After the lighting, he then planned to propose with the tree in the background. However, this plan was ruined thanks to the woman we asked to get our photo. As we were getting out picture she stated, "This is where my finance proposed to me last year." Mattie's last attempt was at our hotel after dinner. Mattie asked the receptionist to take our picture by the tree in the lobby. After a few pictures, he dropped down on his knee and popped the question.

Brandi's answer: Japan. I had so much fun at Tokyo Disney and Disney Sea for their 40th anniversary. But also just exploring Tokyo. Mattie's answer: JAPAN! Every part of both trips was the best TRIP EVERRRRR, Tokyo Disney/ Disney Sea, Universal Studios in Osaka, the Kimono shoot in Kyoto, and even getting attacked by the Nara Deer.
