Explore Downtown
Go explore the many shops celebrating Asheville’s local artists or take a Self-Guided Historic 1.7 mile-long Walking Tour (see link below). There are also many museums and opportunities for crafty experiences such as glassblowing.
Grove “Arcade” Mall
A charming historic mall with cozy cafés, local artists, wine/champagne bars where you can also get cozy and read a book, and boutiques
Flora & Forage
This shop is actually broken into two: Flora is the main botanical shop with beautiful greenery and Forage is the cozy coffee shop (and wine bar) within it. This is a popular destination to relax and unwind perhaps before or after the craziness of all things wedding-related!
French Broad Chocolate Lounge
If you’re a chocolate lover and find yourself in the Pack Square in downtown, stopping here is a must! We recommend the chocolate crème brûlée and liquid truffle if you’re a true chocolate fanatic
Burial Beer Co.
Burial Beer Co has 2 locations in Asheville. Downtown Asheville and Biltmore Village area(behind the wedding venue) Both locations serve great food and beer. Burial beer has a location in the Plaza Midwood area in Charlotte,NC which we love to visit and bring friends.
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
Although this brewery is about 20 minutes away from the venue, it is worth the drive. Sierra Nevada is truly one of the most impressive and unique breweries being one of the largest in the country!
Green Man Brewery
Located in Downtown Asheville. This brewery offers a wide variety of tasteful beers and cocktails. Enjoy the great rooftop mountain views at this location. Don't forget to try the ESB (Special Amber Ale)
Blue Ridge Parkway
Do you enjoy the mountain scenery but want to stay in the comfort of your car? Just drive to and through the Blue Ridge Parkway and stop at any overlook you want for a photo-op! Branden and I met in Boone, NC and have a special adoration for these views of the Blue Ridge Mountains
Craggy Gardens
If you are more like Erica and enjoy a bit more of an outdoorsy adventure, you can drive a little over half an hour outside of Downtown Asheville to visit some hiking trails. Craggy Gardens will be open for its first week after a winter closure. It’s a 20 minute hike to see breathtaking 360 degree views. Check out the link for more info on nearby hiking trails.
