It's 2012. Ashley and Billy have both moved back home to Anchorage, Alaska following college. They do not know each other. Both decide to go out with their friends to Center Bowl for neon bowling. Billy and his friends are placed on the lane next to Ashley and her friends. By this point in the night, Ashley has had *a lot* of liquid courage, and she approaches the boys on the lane next to hers thinking it would be great to get the two groups together (the math checks out: 3 boys and 3 girls). She and Billy chat, exchange numbers, and plan to meet up in downtown Anchorage later that night. After a wild goose chase through several bars, everyone finally meets up... And well, here we are.

Turns out Ashley and Billy weren't strangers after all. Once they started dating, lots of connections started to form - see timeline below: 1993 - 1995: both attended preschool at Puffin Heights Montessori school 1995: Ashley's dad (Mike) coached Billy and Ashley's brother (Garrison) on their Cook Inlet Soccer team 2001-2007: Billy went to middle and high school at Steller Secondary School, where Ashley's best friend (Megan) also went. They attended the same dances, including prom! 2008-2012: Billy went to Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. Ashley had extended family there, and the timing looks right for them both to have been in attendance at a Whitman Renaissance Fair the same day.
