"My first impression of Brady was that he was genuine and really cared about people. He checked in to make sure I made it home okay the night we met and didn't wait too long to ask me out on a real date." - Emalie "Emalie prides herself as an adventurer, and this was no doubt the impression that I first clung to. I saw a girl willing to hop in the Jeep and drive aimlessly into the mountains with." - Brady

"Gosh, there are so many. Our first trip together was pretty iconic. We drove to Driggs, Idaho to spend a weekend at Grand Teton National Park. We left on a Friday night at midnight and drove through the night. I took the first drive until 4am. Brady took the second. We made a pit stop in Montana to hit a hike where we heard a pack of wolves celebrating a kill, and finished our 12 hour drive on fumes. We spent one day on the Driggs side of the Tetons and explored the Jackson Hole side the next day, where I got pulled over for drunk driving. I was not drunk, just bad at driving. On our way back to Seattle, we made two final stops at Craters of the Moon National Monument and then Boise, Idaho where we stayed in a dream Airbnb. I don't know for sure, but I think that trip is when we really fell in love with each other." - Emalie "Early on, and on a whim, I invited Emalie to come on a drive into the Olympic National Forest one day. Even without a specific destination in mind, Emalie was excited to tag along. We spent the afternoon driving up a canyon, sharing a bag of gummy worms and views of the mountains (the 5th picture above). Such a simple time together, but so much fun." - Brady

"I told Brady I loved him when I was concussed. So it only kind of counted, just in case he didn't say it back." - Emalie "There was a moment while we were living in Seattle when I found out I would transfer to a new station in California. The prospect of a new job and a new home suddenly meant nothing to me. The only thing I could think about was moving away from Emalie and the thought that I wouldn't see her as much. It's funny, you get to a point when you randomly just know." - Brady
