Wedding Party

Meet our friends and family who will be walking down the aisles with us!

Wilma Canales

Officiant

Wilma Canales, known to most as Mima, is my amazing, loving grandmother who will be officiating the ceremony. Mima was a teacher and a pastor throughout her lifetime, and just recently turned 90 this past month! She has always been a role model to me and I am honored to have her speaking on my behalf.

Kaitlin Pressley

Maid of Honor

Kaitlin Pressley, the life of any party, receives this honor for being my dark and twisty sister. That’s a Grey’s Anatomy reference. She’s also my Shawn Spencer to Gus Burton, for all my psych-o’s out there. Some might even call us dumb and dumber, true story. Kaitlin’s been a friend since our club volleyball days, when we were about 12 years old. We got closer in high school, but hit our stride during our college years. Kaitlin never failed to make me feel at home amongst her friends and new life, and for awhile she was my safe haven when I was feeling down. She’s reliable, hilarious, and overall just a great person to be around. Can’t wait to see what she has in store for the wedding!

Alicia Chan

Matron of Honor

Alicia Chan, my big sister, deserves this spotlight of matron of honor. Especially because she’s the only one married out of my group, and really knows her stuff when it comes to weddings. That’s a perk of having a sister that is 7 years older than you! She’s already got life practically figured out, and I’m always looking for advice. Alicia has always inspired me, whether she knew it or not, to try my best in everything that I do. I wanted to exemplify what I saw growing up: a respectful, kind, smart, and patient older sister. Some might say I ended up sassier—but someone’s gotta do it. I never said I accomplished what I wanted to the fullest! I know having Alicia at my side will calm any anxieties during my wedding day.

Mariel Guzman

Bridesmaid

Mariel Guzman! Who would have thought someone I knew for a summer would become one of my closest friends? I didn’t think I’d walk away with a college bestie from UCSB, but Mariel proved me wrong. On my last quarter of college, I decided to sublease into a house full of friends despite my apprehension. Mariel ended up being my roommate, and the rest is history. I sometimes think we share one brain cell, and she never fails to make me laugh. Since graduating, she’s proven to be a loyal and true friend. I’m so glad I took that risk, and I’m glad she can be apart of my wedding in such a special way.

Brooke Milder

Bridesmaid

Brooke Milder is the type of person you want in your corner. She’s smart, caring, empathetic, and her laugh never fails to bring a smile to my face. We got close during my junior year of high school, a libero/setter duo is unbeatable, and I knew I would be able to rely on Brooke forever. Despite states keeping us apart, she’s the type of friend that remains the same no matter the time in between. We fall seamlessly into our old routine (which consists of long driveway talks) as if it never stopped. I’m so lucky to have such a dedicated friend to be by my side during my wedding!

Aidan Kearns

Best Man

There are too many things to say about Aidan, and a lot of them probably shouldn’t be said. So to keep it simple—Aidan is my best friend. He’s one of those friends that has really been through it all with me. Starting way back in sixth grade doing homework after school, staying up late playing video games and eating all of his family’s snacks, all the way up to the biggest day of my life. It’s only right that Aidan is right by my side. Even after leaving me behind in Cali for college, it feels like we haven’t skipped a beat. He always knows how to bring the life out of me and give me a good laugh. Just wait till you see this guy do the worm—then you’ll definitely get it.

William Tews

Groomsman

My brother Wil and I…well let’s just say we had a classic sibling relationship. We played many games together, but they would usually end up in a fight of some sort. We would have similar style, but only because he would take from my closet. We even had bunk beds, which was fun at first, but I’m sure you can imagine the trouble we got into. Regardless of all that, I’m glad that we were able to grow up together in a house full of girls. Wil is always down for a good time and is always fun to mess around with. Although he ditched me for Texas, he has definitely helped to shape who I am today, and I’m ecstatic to have him up there with me on my big day.

Bobby Ybarra

Groomsman

Bobby is the most genuine and considerate person I know. He is always making sure that we know we are loved and cared for. And did I mention that he has beautiful eyes? I know that I can always count on Bobby, whether it’s for a cool and random baseball/history fact, or a classic unwinding hangout. It’s great to have him on my team through it all. Can’t wait to have him with my for my wedding!

Oscar Rendon

Groomsman

Oscar is the guy that taught me that there is fun possible in any situation. Whether it was on the baseball field, in the classroom, or during nights out, I can always count on Oscar to bring some life out of me. I met O through baseball at a young age, and he’s been a real bro ever since. I’m stoked to have Oscar by my side this May!
