FAQs

Question

Where is the venue?

Answer

The wedding, cocktail hour, and reception will take place at The Garden Cottage in Dahlonega, GA. Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place in an open air chapel on the property.

Question

Why am I invited?

Answer

A great question! While it's our wedding, we don't believe that it's "our day" as it's often understood. Our belief is that marriage is a sacred union, created by God, for our benefit. Our vows are about one another, but they're made directly to God. As witnesses, we are recognizing you as the support and community we need in our walk with Him. And that is good reason to celebrate!

Question

Will this wedding be fun?

Answer

We think so. There will be good food, drinks, and friends. Plus, Fat Cat Brewhouse is the official beer vendor. Alex is already hard at work brewing. He will be delighted to walk you through your draft options.

Question

Do I have a plus one?

Answer

We're prioritizing an intimate evening with close friends and family. Generally, spouses and long-term significant others are welcome. Please check your formal invite for details.

Question

But what about the children?

Answer

We love (most of) your children. However, venue constraints do not allow us to accommodate infants and small kids. That said, please reach out to us if you have concerns about what to do with your offspring.

Question

Will I be able to get photos with the bride and groom?

Answer

Yes. A professional photographer will be on hand to take formal and candid photos. We ask that the families of the bride and groom, and their wedding parties, be ready and attentive during the formal photo shoots. We want to remember the day itself - not how long photos took. The bride may be forgiving. The groom will not be. You are welcome to take photos of your own throughout the day - we just ask that you keep your phones away during the ceremony.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Dahlonega is generally mid 40s to mid 60s in early November. It's also likely to be peak leaf season, so expect lots of color on the trees! You'll have opportunities to be both indoors and outside throughout the day. Mountain weather can be hard to predict, so we recommend bringing a light jacket just in case.

Question

Are there places to stay in the area?

Answer

Dahlonega has plenty of places to stay in town and the surrounding area. There are accommodation options for all budgets and preferences, ranging from rustic and cozy to luxury - and everything in between. See the "Travel" tab for select options.

Question

These FAQs are hilarious. Who wrote them?

Answer
