it's finally happening!

We first met almost 15 years ago at the very end of high school through a mutual friend. We immediately were drawn to each other, but it was May of our senior year, and both of us were off to different colleges in August. So, we decided to stay friends...we didn't last long. After just two months of constant texting, video chatting for hours every night, and missing each other like crazy, we decided to make it official. I (Alyssa) took a bus into Philly that October. Chad met me in Center City right by City Hall, grabbed my bag from me, kissed me, told me he couldn't just be my friend any more, and that was that. If I wasn't already in love with him before, I definitely fell right at that moment. In the years that followed, we went through so much together. We grew our relationship as we grew together- stumbling through life and figuring out who were were as individuals, but also who we are as a couple. Chad moved back to Philly in 2018, and I wasn't far behind - moving into his small but beautiful studio in Point Breeze. It was first apartment together, right back in the city where it all started. Since then we've changed jobs, moved to different apartments in different neighborhoods, made new friends, found community, gotten engaged, and found our paths. It's taken a while for us to get to the point where we're getting ready to say "I do". So many things stood in our way...the pandemic, job loss, and sickness. But we're finally here, and we're both so grateful to all of our friends and family who have helped us along the way. We cannot wait to celebrate with you all! Thank you. We love you.
