Yes. We are looking at new dates for summer 2021.
We love your kids, but would love it even more if our wedding was your night off! However if this will absolutely prohibit you from coming, let's chat :-)
Audacious summer cocktail attire. Believe in yourself. Go for it. It's going to be hot and we want you to be comfortable so you can dance all night long! And also it's an island wedding in Croatia so have some fun.
Use the Jadrolinija ferry website to check schedules (you can buy tickets online as well) - https://www.jadrolinija.hr/en/ferry-croatia. Depending on when you check the site, the schedule for August may not be posted yet. Typically there are 3 or 4 trips to Vis per day: Around 10-11am, around 2-3pm, around 6-7pm, and sometimes a late one around 8:30pm. When you land in the Split airport, Ubers and taxis should be available to take you into town and the ferry port. From there you will board your ferry and be taken directly to Vis Town. Private boat transfers are also available although we've never done this.
For the night of the wedding - Yes. There are not any easy boat transfers off of the island after the wedding. At the very least you will need a place to sleep on Vis on Saturday, August 8th.
The most convenient area of Vis for you to stay is Vis Town or a nearby area called Kut. Both of these are along the main bay where boats and ferries drop off. However if you want to be adventurous, there are plenty of lovely areas on the island, you will just need to look into a car or taxi to get around. Our shuttle on the night of the wedding will only be driving to/from Fort George (the venue) and Vis Town Center.
There will be a shuttle from the main ferry terminal in Vis Town to Fort George. We will share the shuttle schedule closer to the wedding.
Croatians use the Croatian Kuna if you are paying in cash. We have found that most places take card, but it's nice to have some cash on hand. They do not use the Euro.
