One of our favorite places to simply grab a drink or enjoy a meal. (P.S. this is the place we were greeted by friends and family directly following our engagement on the island. Easy to say, this place has a piece of our hearts.
This is a secondary favorite of ours, tucked away in the "Woods" closer to the middle of the island. The Woods is a formal dinning experience owned and operated by the Grand Hotel. A taxi ride is recommended to take to and from.
Grand Hotel is rich in history and offers exceptional accommodations, with each guest room uniquely decorated. Meals are an event and traditions such as Afternoon Tea in the Parlor and nightly dancing remain a noteworthy part of the guest experience. Named the Best Historic Hotel by USA Today, Travel + Leisure's Best Hotel in Michigan, and Condé Nast Traveler's Top 5 Midwest Resorts sit in a rocking chair on the world's longest porch and experience the excellence of today. Fun Fact: The well known movie "Somewhere In Time" was filmed here at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
You can't make a trip to Mackinac Island without having their fudge! Most fudge shops on the island allow you to watch the sweet treats being made right in front of you... don't forget how great it smells! P.S. Ryba's fudge is our personal favorite.
