Yes! Hotels will be blocked for guests to stay in the city. Keep in mind, if you say in the city, you will have to take a ferry over to the island for the wedding and back to the city at night. Ferry lines as well as their schedules are linked on the travel page. If you plan to stay in the city, double check ferry times and plan your trip accordingly. Ferrys do leave promptly as displayed so arrive early enough to get your ticket and park.

Mackinac Island is a great place for all persons with or without disabilities. There are amigo electric carts, adult strollers, specially designed carriages and more for persons who are unable to walk or walk long distances. Bike rental shops on the island offer electric wheelchairs/carts for rent by the hour or day.

The island encompasses about 3.8 square-miles. The road that runs around the edge of the island, M-185, is just over 8 miles and takes about an hour or so to travel on bike at a leisurely pace. It’s the only state highway in the country that prohibits automobiles.
Yes, pets are welcome on the Island. They do have a leash law and ask that everyone please pick up after their pet. Some lodging facilities are pet friendly and many restaurants have pet seating areas while others will let you bring your pooch to the table on their verandas or patios. Please know only service dogs are permitted inside any restaurant. Pets will not be allowed at the Ceremony or Reception at Mission Point Resort. You can bring your own bike to Mackinac Island. The ferryboats charge $10.00 for each bike you bring. If you don't own your own or are traveling by air, bikes are available for rental all over Mackinac Island.
Before you cross the water to the island, you will be asked which hotel you are staying at while on the island. Your luggage will be tagged and transferred directly to your hotel. Upon check in, you will present your luggage tags to the front desk. This will insure that your luggage gets to the correct room.
A hotel shuttle operated by Carriage Tours runs on a set schedule for guests once they arrive on the island. In addition, you are free to explore downtown and take a taxi at your leisure from wherever you may be. The short 10 minute walk from Shepler's ferry dock to Mission Point Resort is a real treat because you will pass by the Fort, marina, and beautiful residential areas. You will get a feel for life on Mackinac Island.
