How We Met

Team LoveConnection

Braden and Emma met in 2017, however they had been playing hockey together since 2015. Emma was not aware at the time but Braden had noticed the joining of Emma to the HockeyFinder community. He was disappointed in how fast she would leave the locker room and never stayed to enjoy a post game beverage. As Emma became more comfortable with HockeyFinder and after a few sessions with Braden as her captain, she began to warm to the idea of sticking around. During a game on arguably the least favorite rink at Braemar, Emma took a puck to the finger; ever tough she did not want to show how much pain she was in. She hopped on the bench and who happened to be there but Braden. He quickly put his arm around her and looked at her finger telling her "oh it looks fine." He eventually went back on the ice and Emma left the ice to find her finger was broken. What was not broken is now Braden was on Emma's radar. After a road trip to see Old Dominion in Fargo, a camping trip to South Dakota and countless dates to breweries; Emma and Braden made it official.

The Proposal

03/04/2019

Emma and Braden's proposal starts on December 25, 2018. On Christmas Day, Braden gifted Emma with a trip to Calgary, AB to watch the MN Wild take on the Calgary Flames and to visit the beautiful Banff National Park. Emma was a little suspicious of such an extravagant trip and suspected that there may be a proposal coming. As the trip went on and they saw so many amazing sites and no proposal happened, Emma began to think maybe she was wrong. In true Braden fashion, he had his own timeline. On the second to last day Braden and Emma went dog sledding and went to lunch after. Emma asked Braden what his favorite part of the trip was because she had thought the dog sledding would be the last activity. Braden began to rush Emma through lunch and said he wanted to go to another brewery. They hopped in the car and pulled into a Helicopter tour place. Emma did not want to go inside because it was not a brewery. Braden eventually got Emma in the door and checked-in for a helicopter tour. They flew over the Canadian Rockies and when they landed Braden was down on one knee asking Emma to marry him. She of course said yes and you know the rest!
