We met by chance - that is, by being forced to work together. Brad was constantly messaging Lauren on Teams and Lauren was constantly ignoring him to get work done. But, we always sat next to each other and quickly became best friends. After a little over two years, we went on our first date which lasted over nine hours — mini golf, dinner, a horror movie, and ending in a round of pool. And it turns out dating your best friend is even better than working with your best friend. Although we no longer work at the same firm, we now spend our days doing anything and everything together. We’ve filled our time with backpacking trips, camping trips, family events, beach days, hikes, dog parks visits, weeknights cooking dinner at home, midday work rants, and board games. Brad proposed at the top of a mountain in Acadia National Park during sunrise. We had just hiked with headlamps in the dark, early morning on day three of a camping trip and it was a perfect and fitting start to our next adventure. We can’t wait to commit to growing old and grumpy together, and to celebrate with our family and friends — if you’re reading this, we hope you’ll be there to make it all official!
