Brad and Kelley met November 10, 2014 when Kelley and her field hockey teammates ventured over to meet the boys next door. It was only a matter of time before the two shared their first date a couple of months later. Kelley will say it was at Chipotle and she treated him to a burrito. If you ask Brad, it was Valentine’s Day and he took her to their favorite Thai place in Carytown, Thai Diner Too as they watched the snow fall from their table next to the window. Kelley and Brad went on to graduate from the University of Richmond that May and ventured off to different cities. Kelley was in Washington DC pursuing a consulting career and Brad was off to Charlotte to work for Wells Fargo as an investment banker. The two flew between cities every month for the next year. Brad then moved to Austin, TX and Kelley soon joined him. The two drove across the country with Kelley’s Hyundai packed to the brim to finally settle into their new apartment.

A few months after their third anniversary, Brad had ordered a ring and began his proposal planning. They went to their normal Saturday brunch club and Kelley planned to get some schoolwork done after but the other couples at brunch convinced her to go to El Alma for an avocado margarita. Brad parked across the street from the restaurant at a beautiful park and Kelley began complaining that Brad hadn’t shown her the park sooner. They walked down to the water to see the turtles (Kelley’s favorite) and stood on the dock with the skyline of Austin in the background. Brad then got on one knee and asked Kelley to spend forever with him. It’s unclear if she ever truly said yes in that moment from the shock of it all, but minor details right? He had a photographer capture the special moment and the wedding planning began minutes later (literally)!
