In Light of COVID-19

Updated 10.06.2020

With Governor Evers' new order, we are still continuing to go through with our planned nuptials. This new order does not apply to church ceremonies, private ceremonies, private receptions, and events that are "by invitation only". Since our event spaces are closed to the public other than those who have been privately invited, we may proceed as planned. We are not over by much of these limits to begin with, but we knew it would be a question on everyone's mind. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for rolling with the punches with us! This has been a very tricky time to try to continue with a big, long-awaited event. The last thing we want is for someone to get sick afterward. We're hearing everywhere about groups of people getting sick from attending big events, like weddings. We do NOT want to be that wedding. PLEASE. If you do not feel well, even the night before or morning of the wedding, for not only your safety, but the safety of all of our guests, across many ages and areas, we ask you to refrain from attending. We will understand! We want the health of all in attendance to be a priority, and not something anyone has to risk. Please be safe, please be smart. We hope we will be able to see you and have the night of our lives!

How We Met

01.13.14

We essentially met through mutual friends, very unexpectedly! What was a fun night at a graduation party for one, was a casual night watching a Packer game for the other. Worlds collided over cliche locking of eyes from across the room, along with some words of encouragement from nearby friends, three competitive rounds of shuffleboard, and ending in a kiss (just on the cheek, of course)! Leaving much to be anticipated, two days later, we had an "athletic" first date of ice skating (in a sweater dress), and dinner. As if that wasn't awkward enough, shockingly, we met up 3 other times that week, watching the Disney Pixar movie "Wreck-It Ralph", meeting some of the friends, and what some may call "singing" karaoke. The week came to a close with Brad, for some reason, asking Jacqui to be his girlfriend, and Jacqui saying "yes" to the next four-and-a-half years of a well worth it, long-distance relationship.

How He Proposed

08.04.18

Finally, after months of being money-conscious from Brad purchasing, and Jacqui decorating a house, Brad had suggested we go on a date night. A toast was made, commemorating Jacqui's move from Milwaukee to Apppleton and starting a new job, and celebrating Brad's continued success progressing in his career, as well as buying his first house. Dinner was absolutely fantastic, Jacqui having some salmon, and Brad, of course, with a burger. We were supposed to meet up with some friends to go to a local Appleton festival, the Mile of Music, but these friends were "running late". So to kill some time, we go to a nearby, riverside park. After Brad realizes he "forgot his phone" in the car, we're walking, talking, eventually stopping. Jacqui, taking full advantage of date night, asks what Brad's most memorable moments of our relationship have been. Perfect transition. As if Brad couldn't have had it handed to him any easier, he gets down on one knee, and the rest is basically a blur, as Jacqui was in tears. Luckily, the whole moment was captured picture by picture, as those friends who had been "running late" had actually been sneakily following us around the park, just waiting to capture the picture-perfect reactions!
