FAQs

Question

But what will I wear?!

Answer

Black tie optional wedding attire. Those who opt for suits can think jackets, maybe a tie, dress pants. If you want to rock a tux, Charlie would commend you, but no requirements. Anyone not going for suits should opt for something that will have a good spin on the dance floor. At the end of the day, we want you to feel your best - even if that’s in lederhosen that you stole from a yodeling Who.

Question

Do you guys really need all that stuff?

Answer

Absolutely we do not! Please do not feel that a gift is necessary or expected. We’ve lived together for almost three years at this point and survived all activities of daily living, as well as the Richmond Water Crisis of 2025 and Ice Storm of 2026 just fine with the stuff we already have. (Except a coffee maker. We desperately need that.) The registry provides options if gifts are your love language. If you’re feeling adventurous or creative, we would love to fill our home with local or thrifted finds that make you think of us, or even your own art. We both value quality time over anything else so your efforts getting to our wedding is gift enough for us.

Question

Can I bring a whole brood of children with me?

Answer

As much as we love kids, and we’re sure we would love all of yours, we are trying to minimize chaos. If we have not explicitly invited your kids, please enjoy an evening of drinks and music with your kids happily sleeping at home. If we have invited your kids and you worry about their interest in the aforementioned drinks and music, don’t feel that you have to bring them along - we are more than happy to look into sitters for any out of town babies.
