Austin, TX.. With the border between the US & Canada still not open we decided to move our wedding state side.

When Do I Need to Book My Room?

Answer

Alex and Emily will be staying at the Fairmont with family and the wedding party. There is a block of rooms at a discounted rate available at this hotel. Please visit the accommodations page to access the link. If you are wanting to book at this hotel, please do so sooner rather than later, as they tend to book up. There are other hotels nearby as well.

What is the Easiest Way to Get Around?

Answer

Hotels are located downtown Austin and a lot of bars and shops are easy to walk to. Uber and Lyft are in the area as well! *For Ubers and Lyfts on the wedding day: it is super easy to schedule rides for drop off/pick up. If you want to do this ahead of time it will help you make sure you will have transportation at the time you want! (PS- ceremony begins at 5:00 pm and the reception ends at 11:00 pm).

Please make sure your license is valid for flights. Des Moines airport is opening a direct flight to Austin come July for easy travel!

What Should I Pack?

Answer

Weather around this time of year in Austin is usually around 70 during the day but can drop at night. Sun dresses, jeans and tees, and light jackets and layers are good for this time of year!

Is There a Dress Code?

Answer

Yes. The wedding is a formal event. Please no jeans, sneakers, sandals, or golf attire.

What If I Booked my Hotel Room in Vancouver?

Answer

We have been in contact with the Shangri-La in Vancouver regarding our block of rooms. All rooms have been cancelled with no charge.

We love your kids but have decided to have an adults only wedding.
