Brandon and I met for the first time in 2012 in high school. We both lived in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, which is on the Panhandle near Destin, Florida. Marching band is what brought us together then, and what brought us back together when I arrived at UF in 2016. We didn't know each other very well when we first met--he was my sister's section leader and watched out for me as an incoming freshman. Then I met him all over again in college (he was Maddie's section leader, again), and that's when I would truly say that we met and got to know each other. Our first date was to Gainesville's haunted corn maze preceded by a quick dinner at the world's sketchiest Taco Bell.
My favorite number is two and Brandon's is twenty-two, so what is a better day to get proposed to than on "Twosday"? We went to the place that brought us together: UF's marching band practice field. He played me a song on his guitar that has a lot of meaning to us, and then he asked me if we could spend the rest of our lives together. I was crying, he was crying, it was a whole ordeal. Brian and Maddie were there to get some good pictures and to toast with some champagne. There will never be another Twosday, and it will always be special to us.
