We celebrated finding our venue here, and this brewery is a staple for the Light/Walsh/Schule family! You've probably seen us wearing our merch!
On the west side of the island, this is one of the best places to see orcas from land. There’s also a historic lighthouse, walking trails, rocky shoreline, and picnic spots. It's also very kid-friendly! Think: walking (not hiking), short distances, great views, and about 15 minutes from Friday Harbor by car.
Located in Friday Harbor, with exhibitions about orcas and the Salish Sea ecosystem. It’s informative and great for all ages.
For a more active adventure: paddle around the coastline, through kelp forests or sheltered bays. Rentals and guided tours are available!
Get out on the water with a local guide. You may see orcas, humpbacks, Dall’s porpoises, sea lions, and eagles. Booking in advance is highly recommended!
Fresh oysters, clams, mussels; excellent seafood in seasonal settings. The Tide Tables restaurant overlooks their tidelands. Reserve in advance - popular, and for a reason! Book early as it's extremely popular. And get the clams, if they have them!
The flagship fine-dining restaurant at Roche Harbor Resort. Fresh seafood, aged prime meats, spectacular harbor views, and an award-winning wine list. We love this place! Reserve ahead and go hungry!
Do our (Maggie's) favorite activity - bop around! Using the Jolly Trolley you can see much more of the island's main attractions.
Shop a local bookstore and support independent booksellers and the local San Juan Island economy! If you need book recommendations, the bride is happy to help! Get yourself reading material for the ferries and flights home!
Urchin is new-to-town and it's awesome. It's a small cocktail spot, and it gets busy! Be prepared to wait or to take whatever seat you can get. Tell the owner, Patrick - that Kevin and Maggie sent you and it's finally our wedding weekend! The cocktails change seasonally and it's like a little slice of the big city, but on island time.
