Matt and Kate met in Grand Rapids while attending local punk shows, socializing in mutual circles of friends, and frequenting the same restaurants. But started really talking when Matt slid into Kate's DM's one day after briefly bumping into each other at a local bar. The rest is history... truly! Kate will tell the story to this day, of her pointing Matt out (not knowing him yet) to her Mom at the brewery he worked at saying, "I don't know if I have a type, but if I do- it's him." Lo and behold, years later... this statement proved to be extremely true. Timing is everything! These two had been floating around each other for years, but came together at a perfect intersection. They very quickly realized this relationship was different than any other. Casual hanging out became a big love and best friendship unmatched. Their love of travel, food, music, niche humor and each other has led to this day. Celebrating 6 years of dating, 4 years of building a home (and dog parenting), and now the engagement to lead into an exciting new chapter of their lives.
