We're getting married!

Our story technically began in May 2017, when we both stood up in a mutual childhood friend’s wedding. Despite the photographic evidence, neither of us remembers actually meeting! Apparently, the timing just wasn’t on our side yet. Over the years, we crossed paths at various events (more weddings), always connected through the same friends, but somehow never fully intersecting. Fast forward to May 2023, when we were officially reintroduced at a dinner with those same friends while they were visiting from California. What followed felt a little like fate finally stepping in. Over the next few days, we spent time together at a family party, hiking along Lake Michigan, and quickly realized this might be something worth paying attention to. Since then, life has been filled with exploring the city, weekend trips, and plenty of time outdoors, all balanced with laughter, a shared (slightly weird) sense of humor, and a love for live music. In November 2025, on a beach in Traverse City, Michigan, Sreten proposed, and Bonnie said yes. Today, we share life in Chicago with our dog Zoey, Bonnie’s loyal sidekick since 2018. Six years and countless near-misses later, it turns out the timing was perfect after all.
