FAQs

Question

Can we dress up for Halloween?

Answer

Yes! Our only requests are that they lean towards a cosmic or celestial theme to fit with the Space Center venue, that you avoid using any latex products such as rubber bands, and that any glitter is sealed in some way so that it doesn't shed everywhere. Even if you don't attend in costume, we will have a collection of costume pieces and accessories available in case you want to add a little extra flair! If you're not sure what counts towards the theme, we've put together a Google Drive folder with pictures of example outfits that lean towards the vibe we want to go for! Question

What disability accommodations are available?

Answer

The Space & Rocket Center features ramps, elevators, and wide pathways that are accessible for wheelchairs and other mobility aids. There are also multiple wheelchair-accessible restrooms within the Davidson Center for Space Exploration, where the ceremony and reception will be held. Out of concern for latex allergies, we have confirmed that the center's catering workers use nitrile gloves during food preparation. We also do not plan to have any latex balloons present for decoration, and our flower bouquets will not be bound with rubber bands.

Question

Will there be allergy-friendly food options?

Answer

The reception dinner will have options available that are free from allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, gluten, and soy. As far as we are aware, guests with these allergies have no issues with being in the same room as these ingredients, so these ingredients will still be present in some of the food options.

Question

Is smoking/vaping allowed?

Answer

Even though there is a designated smoking area outside the Saturn V Exhibition Hall, we ask that you refrain from smoking or vaping out of consideration for a guest who is strongly allergic. If you must smoke or vape, we ask that you do so further away from the building doors and that you remain outside for at least 2 minutes after you finish in order to prevent any remaining traces of secondhand smoke from triggering an allergic reaction.

Question

Why did you include an addressed envelope with your invitations if the RSVP is online?

Answer

Because we knew that some people would likely bring a plus-one, so we could specifically list a guest along with those people in their RSVP forms. However, we could not plan for everyone who *might* bring a plus-one, so if you did not have a guest listed in your RSVP form then you should use that envelope to send us a note about your plus-one and any allergies or dietary restrictions we should be aware of.
