Two years ago, neither of us knew that an ordinary trip to a department store would become the beginning of our forever. I was at the beach and, quite embarrassingly, had no swimwear. I wandered into a department store browsing the selections, struggling to decide what to buy. As I held up one of the garments, I heard a distinguished voice and accent from nearby say, "That's way too big for you." I looked up, slightly surprised, and there he was. He smiled and suggested another option, assuring me that it would look great on me. I took his advice, made my purchase, and walked away without giving the moment much thought. Little did I know, fate had other plans. Not long afterward, we crossed paths again in another department store. This time, he introduced himself more formally, asked for my number, and invited me to dinner. I shared my information and walked away thinking I would probably never hear from him again. But that very night, he called. After exchanging greetings and asking about my day, he wanted to know more about me—my favorite foods, the activities I enjoyed, and how I liked to spend my time. The very next day, he called again with a plan. He suggested a time, shared all the details of our date, and even encouraged me to bring a friend if that would make me feel more comfortable. That thoughtful gesture told me so much about the man he was. We went to dinner, and it was some of the best seafood I had enjoyed in a very long time. But even more memorable than the meal were the laughs we shared, the easy conversation, and the unmistakable chivalry that Tyrese displayed so effortlessly. He was intentional, attentive, and every bit the gentleman. From that moment on, I knew he was different. With Tyrese, his intentions and purpose are never in question. He communicates daily and does all things well. He leads with kindness, consistency, and grace. When he met my family, he was just as warm, genuine, and confident as he had been on the day we first met. Before long, our hearts connected in a way I had never experienced before. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to love him, to partner with him, and to steward this beautiful gift that God has entrusted to us. Together, we will build our future with God at the center of everything we do. Faith will guide us, love will sustain us, discipline will strengthen us, and purpose will fuel us.
