We met July 2014, during our first year of Anesthesiology residency in Little Rock, Arkansas. We immediately nestled into a close friendship. It was clear the Lord brought us into each other's life at the most perfect time. We were fortunate to serve as each other's lifeline and support throughout the hardships of residency. It didn't take long to realize just how special this connection was and we have been inseparable ever since! Does it get any better than getting to have your best friend and the person you love by your side at work everyday?! We are both Anesthesiologists and completed our residency in 2018. Once we graduated, we had to leave Little Rock to move to the big cities of New Orleans and Boston in order to complete one more year of specialized fellowship training. Now that we are done with school and training forever, we are ready to get married! Finally! We are so excited to share this special day with each of you!
I told you how we had to separate to New Orleans & Boston for our last year of training, but I left out a major event. An event he needed to take place before we graduated & packed our Uhauls! On the weekend of April 29, 2018 I planned to go to New Orleans to look for an apartment. Dale told me he had to work that weekend and wouldn't be able to go so I took a girlfriend instead. As the weekend was ending, my girlfriend seemed very concerned about getting on the road back to Little Rock & insisted that we make good time. Little did I know that as we finally pulled into my garage, I would be in for the biggest surprise. The house was filled with over 300 balloons, flowers adorned the kitchen, "the greatest love songs of the 60's" filled the house, & there stood Dale with the biggest smile on his face, arms open wide- ready for the most memorable hug. As he hugged me, he whispered "Now you know why I couldn't get out of work!" He grabbed my hand & led me outside to my backyard where a massive chalkboard that he had built showcased every girl's dream line, "Will you marry me?" Next to the chalkboard was the little blue box that has brought us to where we are today. For every female out there wanting more details: 1. Yes, he blew up each balloon on his own! He was a competitive swimmer. Dad acknowledged that Dale does indeed have strong lungs & happily relinquished all future balloon responsibilities. 2. The writing on the chalkboard was his & he spent hours getting it perfect. 3. He chose the location for a very specific reason. That was the first house I owned. I picked every detail while it was built. It was home to some very special memories that were made over the last 4 years. The closer we got to leaving, the more sentimental I was becoming, & he just knew. He wanted to make one last huge memory there & even included my beloved goldendoodle, Finley! 4. He planned everything with my girlfriend, so she could be there to take pictures of the candid moment.
