FAQs

We know that traveling to Hawaii for a wedding brings up lots of extra questions (especially in the wake of Covid) and we are delighted to help answer them!
Question

Are masks required in Hawaii?

Answer

1) Mask mandates - you must wear a mask when indoors and in crowded areas 2) Social distancing is still encouraged.

Question

Do I need a Covid test to enter Hawaii?

Answer

The guidelines are frequently shifting, so please stay tuned to the state website https://travel.hawaii.gov/#/ Currently if you have a negative covid test or proof of vaccination, you are cleared to enter. ***You MUST create a login and upload these documents on the website prior to DEPARTURE for Hawaii. Otherwise you will have to quarantine for 10-14 days.

Question

What is this vaccine passport?

Answer

Currently in the state of Hawaii, you must show proof of vaccination (photo of or actual vaccine card) to enter restaurants, gyms and certain other businesses and events. If you are not vaccinated you must show proof of a negative covid test within the last 48 hours to enter restaurants and certain events and businesses.

Question

Will your wedding be canceled if groups are restricted?

Answer

Stay tuned to this website. We will communicate directly with each invited guest if a true cancellation happens, but we really don't want to cancel. Right now we are facing strict gathering restrictions once again, but are hopeful that it will change by December. Please pray that things open up so we can have the wedding we want to have with all of you present. If we do have to downsize, we should only have to reduce the ceremony guest count (since it's indoors) but the reception should stay the same since it's outdoors.

Question

How can we be respectful of Hawaii as the home to many and also enjoy our vacation?

Answer

Great question! Hawaii is not a playground. It is sacred land for many people and is the home to so many more. Please respect wildlife by not disturbing it. Please stay on trails when hiking and don't litter. Please enjoy the beauty and be respectful. Please be so, so, so careful when hiking. The trails can be so fun and so dangerous. Mind your step and know your personal limits. The same goes for the ocean. Respect it's might and know your limits.
