It is our dream to use this weekend as a time to bring our communities together and spend real time with the people we love. So we're spreading out the festivities to last a full weekend. We found a summer camp that has comfortable accommodations for everyone so we can all stay on-site together. From the moment you get to camp on Friday midday, until you leave us on Sunday, all food, drinks, and activities will be pre-paid for and prepared for you. We hope you'll join us for the full weekend and stay at camp.
The ceremony rituals begin promptly at 3:00pm on Friday, so don't be late! We'll have camp open at 11:00am so you can check in, get situated in your rooms, and get dressed before events begin. ALSO, we'll be taking pictures before the ceremony, and we welcome you to join us at 1:30pm to be included. Some travel notes: We're coordinating a shuttle from Teaneck at 9:30am Friday. For those flying, we encourage you to arrive in the New York area Thursday, or by 8:15am Friday at the latest. See the "Travel" tab for more information.
There are three different levels of comfort at Trail's End Camp. All rooms have towels, bedding, and A/C & heat. >> BUNKS: They have twin beds (not bunked) that sleep 6-10, with a shared closet and bathroom. We imagine that groups of friends or families might be most interested. >> DORMS: These are private rooms for 2-6 people (each room is sized differently) with twin beds. There are many *private* bathrooms (shower/sink/toilet behind a door that locks) in the building, to be shared by those staying in the dorms. There's also a fun lounge in the building for those who need to be social all the time. We imagine that young couples or groups of friends might be most interested. >> COTTAGES: These are hotel-style private rooms with a Queen bed, bathroom, and closet. Some have an additional room meant for children. We will try to reserve these rooms for families and adults who seek more private accommodations. Keep in mind...it's still camp :) Once we have a better idea of numbers, we will be in touch with you and do our best to make sure everyone is comfortable with their accommodations.
We are doing our best to keep costs manageable for everyone. Costs will range from $325-$385 per person for accommodations, food, and drinks for the full weekend. Kids 5 and under are free. From the moment you arrive Friday until you leave Sunday, everything will be provided for you. We don't want money to be the reason you don't join us. If this number feels prohibitive for you, please be in touch with Rachel or David and we will work out a way to get you there.
Most meals will be pescatarian and have vegan options, but they will not be prepared in a kosher kitchen. For Saturday lunch, we are kashering the grills and doing a barbecue with kosher meat! (There will also be vegan options available). For those who request it, we will be ordering kosher certified meals to be brought in. There will be kosher wine options as well.
We will have a multitude of optional activities on Saturday. Some will be organized: yoga, workout class, a hike, sports games, Shabbat morning services, and more. And others can be at your leisure: The gym is open 24/7, and there are sports courts galore, including basketball, tennis/pickleball, beach volleyball, wiffle ball homerun derby, softball/kickball, capture the flag, plenty of grass for lawn games, and more! All equipment will be provided (except tennis rackets). We'll come back together for meals and evening festivities. A more detailed schedule will be provided when you arrive.
Check out the "Attire" tab to see ideas for what to wear to the ceremony on Friday, and throughout the weekend. This is, of course, just guidance – we don't want to take away your creative agency. As we get closer to the wedding, we'll add a more general packing list to that page as well. Check back!
