Things To Do

Some of our happiest memories together as a couple took place at the locations below. We are so excited to share these special places/activities with you.

Yerkes Observatory

373 W Geneva St, Williams Bay, WI 53191
, (262) 245-5555

In operation since 1897, our ceremony location is a historic landmark that houses the largest refracting telescope in the world. Known as the "the birthplace of modern astrophysics", Albert Einstein and Edwin Hubble are among the famous scientists who studied here. Tours are offered to the public every Saturday at 10am, 11am, and 12pm, including on the day of our wedding! Suggested donations are $10 for adults and $8 for children. We highly recommend attending a tour on the morning of our wedding, as the telescope domes will not be open for viewing during our ceremony.

Geneva Lake Shore Path

Geneva Lake Shore Path

Geneva Lake Shore Path, Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, WI 53125

One of the greatest features of Lake Geneva is that the shore all around the lake is open to the public (i.e. it's free!). Originally a footpath used by the Potawatomi Indians, the shore path extends around the lake's 26 mile circumference and offers beautiful views of the lakeside properties. Easy access points for the shoreline are in downtown Fontana, downtown Williams Bay, or downtown Lake Geneva.

Venetian Festival

Venetian Festival

201 Wrigley Drive, Lake Geneva, WI

This five-day Festival runs from August 15th-19th and takes place at Flat Iron, Library, and Seminary Parks in downtown Lake Geneva. We encourage guests to take advantage of the festival's craft fair, carnival, water ski show, live bands, and of course, the local cuisine (highly recommended: brat stand and beer tent).

Pier 290

Pier 290

1 Liechty Drive, Williams Bay, WI 53191

Pier 290 is our favorite restaurant in the area. You can sit outside along the water at a table or even eat and drink with your toes in the sand. This restaurant is located in Williams Bay, WI.

Geneva Lake Brewing Co.

750 Veterans Parkway, Lake Geneva, WI 53147
, (262) 248-2539

Come get a flight of local beer at this laid back tap room. They will also make you a canned pint to-go if you feel like taking some with you!

Chucks Lakeshore Inn

352 Lake Street, Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, WI 53125
, (262) 275-3222

Chucks’ Lakeshore Inn is the perfect place for a casual drink and some fried cheese curds along the water. Bloody Mary’s and Lobster rolls are highly recommended!

Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy

Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy

251 Elkhorn Road, Williams Bay, WI 53191
, (262) 903-3601

Explore this 231 acre parcel featuring over 4 miles of trails laid out to show the beautiful serenity of the Prairie. Kathleen and Bobby have enjoyed Kishwauketoe over the years through walks with their Dog and 5k runs with the Cook family.

Fontana Beach

Fontana Beach

Fontana Boulevard, Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, WI 53125

Fontana Beach is open to the public and an ideal spot to camp out for the day along the water. Located right in downtown Fontana, Fontana is walking distance from The Abbey Resort, Chuck’s Lakeshore Inn, and Gordy’s Boathouse.

Fontana Paddle Company

454 Lake Street, Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, WI 53125
, (262) 275-5708

Next to Fontana Beach, guests can rent kayaks and stand up paddle boards to use on the Lake. We recommend to call ahead or visit the office early in the day as August tends to be the busy season. For information please visit http://www.fontanapaddleco.com/

Gordy's Boathouse Restaurant

Gordy's Boathouse Restaurant

336 Lake Street, Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, WI 53125

Located directly next to Chucks’, Gordy’s also serves up great food and drinks. The boathouse shaped restaurant has the perfect atmosphere to enjoy summer at the lake.

Studio Winery

Lake Geneva, WI 53147
, (262) 348-9100

Studio is an urban winery where all wines are made onsite. Both owners are artists and musicians!

Downtown Lake Geneva

Lake Geneva, WI 53147

Downtown Lake Geneva is home to a number of antique, apparel, and jewelry shops. You can see the selection for yourself by visiting https://www.visitlakegeneva.com/shopping/
