Mayport, PA

Divine Timing

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Two separate locations, roughly 9 hours apart. Kelsie was living in Pittsburgh and still navigating being a single mom to her then two year old daughter, Briar. Originally from the Ohio Valley, Bobby was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and living on base at the time while serving in the US Army. Occasionally, Bobby would make the drive home to Ohio to visit family, or visit his long time close family friend who lived in Carnegie, PA. Summer 2017, Kelsie was hesitant- but reluctantly decided to download the popular dating app known as ‘Tinder’. If you are unfamiliar with Tinder, the app shows you people in your area based on location. Unless you pay for a premium subscription, the radius only allows for up to 100 miles. One evening during the summer of 2017, Kelsie happened to swipe to Bobby’s profile. He happened to be staying with his friend from Carnegie that weekend, which allowed the two of them to show up on each other’s radius. If the two of them had not swiped on each other while Bobby was in Carnegie, it’s possible (and even likely) that they would have never met! As soon as Kelsie saw Bobby’s photo, she immediately screenshot his profile and texted it to her best friend Olivia and said, “I am literally going to marry this man.” Some time had passed, the two continued to chat here and there, but ultimately Bobby ended up getting back into a relationship with his ex. Although the two had never met or even spoken over the phone, Kelsie couldn’t understand why she was so upset to see Bobby in a relationship. Eventually one day Bobby posted something on his Facebook about being single, and Kelsie wasted no time sliding back into his messages to try and pursue him further and hopefully win him over. The two met up for the first time in June of 2018 when Bobby came home to Ohio for a weekend. It was the best first date either of them had ever been on. They went to see Hereditary in theatres, grabbed a drink at the bar and people watched, and found a haunted tunnel nearby to explore. The rest is history! They remained in close contact with each other despite the long distance, and in October of 2018 in Salem, Massachusetts, Bobby officially asked Kelsie to be his girlfriend. The next year of their relationship would be long distance while Bobby finished his contract in the Army, and with prior plans to move to Pittsburgh to pursue a welding career, things seemed to fall into place seamlessly for the pair. Kelsie made the step to introduce Bobby to her daughter Briar on Mother’s Day of 2019, and from that moment on Kelsie knew she had found the one. Briar instantly had Bobby wrapped around her finger and the two of them had a connection as if they had known each other for Briar’s whole life right from the start. 5 years to the date that Bobby asked Kelsie to be his girlfriend in Salem, he proposed to her in their favorite place to go together: Dolly Sods, WV. We are so eager to finally solidify what we knew all along: that we are each other’s forever. We cannot wait to blend into one whole family, where Briar and I can share together the same last name of the man who has given us both the world.
