We can now officially say that we are a successful Match.com relationship! We met online in 2015 and after about a week of texting decided to meet up and see if this could really work. Our first date was at IKEA, sitting on multiple couches to see which one was the comfiest. While a little unconventional, it was a great way to get to know each other while making three laps through the store! Afterwards we took a ride in Bobby's 1985 Firebird and blasted 90s music as we twisted and turned down the nearby back roads. Even though we had just met, we already knew that we enjoyed being around each other; sharing our hopes and dreams, setbacks and victories. Plus, we know how to pick amazing first dates!
We often tell this story as the "what was supposed to happen" and the "what actually happened" set. The original plan was to take a long bike ride out to the town of Lebanon, OH where we had some of our best and first dates. Then we were going to walk around, do a little antiquing and pick up some Whit's Frozen Custard (so good!). Mother nature had other plans, however, and made us cut that bike trip short and turn around. We packed up the bikes and then drove to Lebanon. All the while, the sky is clearing up with no sign of an impending storm. We could have continued on that bike ride after all! The following day, Father's Day 2018, we ended up going for a hike in a park that neither of us had been to before. Eventually we made it to a pretty overlook with the Little Miami River flowing underneath. As we both took in the beauty of the scenery, Bobby slowly says, "so....I have something" reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a wad of toilet paper. Thankfully there was a ring inside! He got his knees dirty, popped the question, she said yes and now here we are!
