Christina and Bob met through friends at IU. Bob was already in the Kelley School of Business, and Christina was looking to apply. Bob agreed to tutor Christina, and she got into the program! As a polite thank you, Christina bought Bob a coffee mug filled with chocolate-covered coffee beans. Bob took that as a sign she was into him and asked her out, and the rest is history.

After dating for 8 years, Christina got accepted into medical school in another country, and the two of them began preparing for the long-distance relationship. In June 2019, they traveled to Tokyo, Japan. On the first day of the trip, Bob brought Christina to the top of a rooftop to view the city. With the rain as the perfect backdrop, and much to Christina's surprise, Bob dropped to one knee, pulled out the ring, and popped the question. And she said yes!
