Mill Creek Venue is set on a beautiful 10-acre hillside forest in Giffin, GA. A flowing creek runs beside the ceremony site, and an authentic Civil War-era gristmill stands near the reception pavilion. While there is a wooden staircase down to the grassy ceremony site, there are paved paths throughout the venue.
The reception pavilion is within walking distance from the ceremony site. While it has a mountain house appearance, there are no windows or doors, making the reception pavilion completely open. There are fans and heaters in the rafters if the weather requires us to use either.
"Sunday dress" will be perfect for our wedding. With the wooden staircase leading down to the ceremony site and the grassy areas around the venue, we do not recommend heels for the ladies.
We thought it would be helpful for you to know: * The wedding and reception are both open to the outdoors. While the reception pavilion looks like a mountain house, it has no windows or doors to contain everyone. * There is a flowing creek beside the ceremony site with large flat rocks that beg to be played on. While it is tempting to play on them, please be aware that the venue owners do not allow guests on the rocks. * We understand that even the best-behaved children can have meltdowns and that infants often cry. Unfortunately, there isn't really a good place for you to go to isolate your child from the congregation during the ceremony other than the restroom "house" or your vehicle. We respectfully ask that you have a plan in case this situation arises.
