Hotel
There are no hotels in Kismet. Options for accommodations include A) rent a house/room in Kismet or B) take a ferry back to Long Island. Details below: A) If you would like to rent a house in Kismet for the weekend, feel free to do so. There are houses for rent on Airbnb, VRBO and some rooms available at Margarita Villas. Dan and Hannah will also be renting a few houses to then sublet rooms to guests. If you would like to rent a room, please let Dan and Hannah know ASAP so we can plan ahead. There is generally a two night minimum for lodging on the island. B) There will be a ferry on Saturday night for guests that would like to go back to Bay Shore after the reception. There will be a van at the ferry terminal in Bay Shore to Manhattan for guests who would like to go back to the city. There are also hotel options a short drive from the ferry terminal in Bay Shore - you can take an Uber or drive. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
Train
The LIRR can take you from Penn Station (in NYC) or Jamaica Station (if you're coming from JFK) to Bay Shore, where you will find a 5 minute shuttle that will take you to the ferry terminal for Kismet, Fire Island. Note: there are multiple ferries to Fire Island. Make sure you take the shuttle to the Kismet ferry. https://new.mta.info/schedules/long-island-rail-road
Flight
If you are flying in from out of town, we recommend flying to JFK or MacArthur Airport in Islip. There is an Airtrain at JFK that takes you to Jamaica Station for the Long Island Rail Road. Then take the LIRR from Jamaica Station to Bay Shore (~45 min), where you will find a 5 minute David Bros shuttle to the ferry terminal for Kismet, Fire Island. The Islip airport is small, but only a 20 minute drive to the ferry terminal. Note: There are multiple ferries to Fire Island - make sure you take the shuttle to the Kismet ferry. Although it sounds complicated, it is much easier to take the JFK Airtrain to the Long Island Railroad to the David Bros shuttle to the ferry than it is to rent a car at JFK and drive to the ferry in Bay Shore.
Travel Note
THERE ARE NO CARS PERMITTED ON FIRE ISLAND. Do not try to drive on the island. You can drive to the ferry terminal in Bay Shore, where there are parking lots adjacent to the ferry terminal. We recommend the parking lot behind the Chowder Bar (123 Maple Ave, Bay Shore, NY 11706), though there are alternatives if that one is full. From there, it's just a short walk to the ferry.
Travel Note
Please reference the ferry schedule posted for September 8 onwards
