Question

What COVID-19 precautions are you taking?

Answer

We are requiring that all of our guests who are eligible for the vaccine be vaccinated to keep a gathering of this size safe for our friends and family. In addition our ceremony and reception are all outside. We have rented out the entire venue (includes a well ventilated indoor area) so there is enough space to spread out if you'd like to keep a distance. Please do not attend if you are feeling ill, or if you have been exposed to COVID in the last 14 days regardless of vaccination status.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Absolutely, Fire Island is a family friendly spot and the COVID baby boom is real (at least among our friends). Please reach out to Dan and Hannah directly if you plan to bring your kids.

Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

Beach Semi-Formal / Cocktail attire. Fire Island is a casual place and we are getting married on the beach (shoes are optional for that part). Please wear what makes you feel comfortable.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

For those traveling to Fire Island on Saturday. We have chartered a water taxi at 3 pm to leave from the Saltaire terminal in Bayshore (next to Lakeside restuarant).

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

No cars are allowed on Fire Island. Please refer to the "How do I get to Kismet" part of our website. If you have more specific questions, please reach out to Hannah and Dan directly.

Question

Can I come for Saturday only?

Answer

Yes. Fire Island is an easy day trip from New York City and accessible via public transportation. We have a water taxi scheduled for guests coming on Saturday at 3 pm EST (at the Saltaire terminal next to Lakeside restaurant). There is also a 1 pm and 4 pm ferry. The 4 pm ferry will miss the ceremony.

Question

What do I do if I get in late after the ferry schedule ends?

Answer

We will email everyone the ferry schedule once posted. If you arriving late at night, PLEASE PACK LIGHTLY. Your only option for getting to the Island would be to 1) hire a private water taxi or 2) take a cab to the Fire Island Lighthouse in Robert Moses Park and walk a mile to Kismet. Please reach out to to Hannah and Dan and they can walk you through your options.
