Things To Do

Hope everyone is as excited as we are for a weekend in the woods! While we know a bunch of you might be good to explore on your own—others might be thinking, "Where the hell am I and why are Blake and Becca dragging me out to the middle of nowhere?" Ask Brian and Mikey about Hallowhike and just trust us! We've got you covered :) Below are some options for activities you may want to consider if this is your first time touching grass since March 2020:
Lounge at The Shandaken Inn

Lounge at The Shandaken Inn

Shandaken Inn, 1 Golf Course Rd, Shandaken, NY 12480
, (845) 280-2828

We have this entire property booked for our guests all weekend, so please put it to use even if you aren't staying here! Play some games, have a drink (but pace yourselves for a long night ahead), go for a swim, chill by the creek... the inn is your oyster. If you want to play a set against someone who swears he is better than Serena Williams, contact Brian Lash (it's actually Casey Trotta)

A Hiker's Hike (6.6 Miles)

A Hiker's Hike (6.6 Miles)

2679-2633 Spruceton Rd, West Kill, NY 12492

25 minute drive from The Shandaken Inn. This is what we would do in your shoes, but we know we're weird and a 7-mile hike isn't what most people want to do in July (except for Jonny—he loves a long hike in the heat).

A Lazier Hike (1.7 Miles)

A Lazier Hike (1.7 Miles)

103 Laurel House Rd, Palenville, NY 12463

35 minutes from The Shandaken Inn. Looks like a pretty epic waterfall and a nice way to get some steps in. We'd recommend bringing a portable speaker, a bathing suit, and a towel for this one.

The Laziest Hike (Rail Explorers)

The Laziest Hike (Rail Explorers)

Rail Explorers: Catskills Division, 70 High St, Phoenicia, NY 12464

If you want to hike, without the hiking, the Catskills has you covered. Rail Explorers looks like a pretty awesome day activity, and we have a hunch Justin Seltzer will be leading this expedition on Saturday.

Fly Fishing

Fly Fishing

5579 Route 28, Phoenicia, NY 12464

10 Minutes from Shandaken Inn. We haven't asked yet, but we assume Lucas, his rescue pet Rocco, and Corey will lead the fly fishing expedition. We know, Lucas and Corey are saltwater guys. What can they possibly know about freshwater? If you don't trust them but still want to go fly fishing, reach out to Catskill Outfitters and book a group expedition. Maybe a pro will increase your odds of catching a tiny fish that looks marginally bigger by holding it out at an angle.

Tube Down the Esopus

Tube Down the Esopus

10 minutes from the Shandaken Inn. You'll def find Cameron Goodman and Ally Goldstein there chasing the high of their 2017 Kalahari experience. Hop in a tube and let the river do the rest. It's nature's lazy river.

Phoenicia Diner

Phoenicia Diner

Phoenicia Diner, 5681 NY-28, Phoenicia, 12464

If outdoor adventure isn't your thing, but breakfast is, check out Phonecia Diner

Golf at Hanah Country Club

Golf at Hanah Country Club

20 minutes from Shandaken. Course looks decent, but for those who need to scratch that golf itch every weekend (cough Ryan Schatz), it will do the trick.

Woodstock Brewery

Woodstock Brewery

Are you a man? Is your preferred method of sitting in an oversized lawn chair? When the bar tender asks for your drink, do you ask for the local IPAs on tap? If so, Woodstock brewing has you covered.

Belleayre Beach

Belleayre Beach

Belleayre Mountain Ski Center, 181 Galli Curci Rd, Highmount, NY 12441

10 minutes away. If you'd prefer nature's finest pool over the pool accommodations at the Shandaken, Belleayre Beach is very close by.

For all the days along the way
