Our favorite beach, and the closest one to downtown. Get lunch at one of the local restaurants while you're there – Obstinate Daughter and Sullivan's Fish Camp are our favorites, and Hometeam BBQ and Poe's are great options as well.
This is the main shopping street downtown.
Stroll through this historic neighborhood, explore the charming (and very impressive) houses, and take a walk to The Battery for scenic waterfront views at the park.
A very cute and very tasty breakfast spot with our favorite coffee in town.
The Harbinger's sister restaurant, another great option for breakfast. This cafe is in the historic district very close to The Gibbes.
Another cute bakery, mostly grab-and-go pastries but they have a small outdoor courtyard as well.
A fun spot for brunch, lunch or dinner, with delicious food and a great atmosphere.
A casual brunch spot with some good greasy, carby options if you were a bit over-served the night before. :) Also a great option for delivery via DoorDash/UberEats.
Our favorite restaurant for a casual lunch or dinner, and the location of our welcome party on Thursday! We love the chargrilled oysters, fried chicken sandwich, fried shrimp roll, and Siam salad – but everything is delicious.
Delicious, casual Asian restaurant for lunch or dinner. They don't take reservations, but wait times are usually fairly short. Good option for a group!
Cute spot for breakfast or lunch – healthier food that still tastes great. Lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options, we love the good burger as well as the naughty burger.
Our favorite Texas-style barbecue in Charleston, and another great option for large groups. Get the chopped brisket sandwich!
The best burger in town, with some good vegetarian and seafood options as well.
Delicious French bistro with a great European-feeling vibe.
Great lunch or dinner spot on lower King St. with an emphasis on seafood. They don't take reservations, so put your name in early and walk around the shops or grab a glass of wine at Bin 152 or Bar 167 while you wait. We love the lobster roll and ceviche here.
Delicious, slightly fancier seafood, located inside a historic former bank downtown.
The best dinner restaurant in Charleston, specializing in seafood. Best suited for pairs or small groups, they don't take reservations and people start lining up early - but don't be intimidated by the line. If you get there around 4:30, you can put your name on the list and grab a drink at a nearby bar until it's time for dinner. Worth the wait!
A longtime favorite! If you have ever visited us in Charleston, Blake has likely taken you to this brewery.
Our favorite neighborhood wine bar, right next to Leon's if you want to grab a drink after the welcome party.
If you're down for a short drive away from downtown, this brewery is right on the Ashley River with great views, great beer, and great pizza. Very family-friendly as well.
Our favorite place for a sweet treat! They have lots of vegan and gluten-free options in addition to traditional ice cream.
