Things To Do

Sullivan's Island

Sullivan's Island, SC

Our favorite beach, and the closest one to downtown. Get lunch at one of the local restaurants while you're there – Obstinate Daughter and Sullivan's Seafood & Bar are our favorites, and Hometeam BBQ and Poe's are great options as well.

King Street

King Street, Charleston, SC

This is the main shopping street downtown.

South of Broad

Charleston, SC 29401

Stroll through this historic neighborhood, explore the charming (and very impressive) houses, and take a walk to The Battery for scenic waterfront views at the park.

The Harbinger Cafe & Bakery

1107 King Street, Charleston, SC 29403

A great breakfast spot with the best coffee in town.

Harken Cafe

62 Queen Street, Charleston, SC 29401

The Harbinger's sister restaurant, another great option for breakfast. This cafe is in the historic district very close to The Gibbes.

Post House

101 Pitt Street, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464

A fun spot for brunch, lunch or dinner, with delicious food and a great atmosphere.

Leon's

698 King Street, Charleston, SC 29403

Our favorite restaurant for a casual lunch or dinner, and the location of our welcome party on Thursday! We love the chargrilled oysters, fried chicken sandwich, fried shrimp roll, and Siam salad – but everything is delicious.

167 Raw Oyster Bar

193 King Street, Charleston, SC 29401

Great lunch or dinner spot on lower King St. They don't take reservations, so put your name in early and walk around the shops or grab a glass of wine at Bin 152 or Bar 167 while you wait. We love the lobster roll and ceviche here.

Xiao Bao Biscuit

224 Rutledge Avenue, Charleston, SC 29401

Delicious, casual Asian restaurant for lunch or dinner. They don't take reservations, but wait times are usually fairly short. Good option for a group!

Basic Kitchen

82 Wentworth Street, Charleston, SC 29401

Cute spot for breakfast or lunch – healthier food that still tastes great.

Lewis Barbecue Charleston

464 North Nassau Street, Charleston, SC 29403

Our favorite Texas-style barbecue in town, and another great option for large groups. Get the chopped brisket sandwich!

Chubby Fish

252 Coming Street, Charleston, SC 29403

The best dinner restaurant in Charleston, specializing in seafood. They don't take reservations and people start lining up around 4pm, but don't be intimidated by the line. If you get there around 4:30-4:45, you can put your name on the list and grab a drink at a nearby bar until it's time for dinner. Worth the wait!

Revelry Brewing Co

10 Conroy Street, Charleston, SC 29403

A longtime favorite! If you have ever visited us in Charleston, Blake has likely taken you to this brewery.

Graft Wine Shop & Wine Bar

700b King Street, Charleston, SC 29403

Our favorite neighborhood wine bar, right next to Leon's if you want to grab a drink after the welcome party.

Freehouse Brewery

2895 Pringle Street, North Charleston, SC 29405

If you're down for a short drive away from downtown, this brewery is right on the Ashley River with great views, great beer, and great pizza.

Off Track Ice Cream

6 Beaufain Street, Charleston, SC 29401

Our favorite place for a sweet treat! They have lots of vegan and gluten-free options in addition to traditional ice cream.
