Some people start their day with coffee and a bagel—we started forever!

It was a cold and rainy March of 2021 when Andre and Bree first happened upon each other on a little heard of dating app Coffee Meets Bagel. As Bree is a HUGE coffee fan, for as long as she can remember, Bree felt this was fate when an app called Coffee Meets Bagel was created and launched with the purpose to bring people together who want a different type of online dating experience. Andre on the other hand, is not a big fan of coffee and drinks it once in a blue moon. Ohh ho ho but bagels, that man loves him some bagels. When Andre landed his big break into the entertainment industry with Disney, he was relocated to Los Angeles, where he, the huge bagel lover he is, stumbled upon this dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel; he of course had to download this app! Bree, the forever beach and water loving girl, was born and raised in the greater Los Angeles area. The beach is her home and she could never see herself not living close to the ocean! An undetermined amount of time passes before Andre and Bree happen upon each other in the app. The wonderful thing about this dating app is that you only get 5 matches a day and a certain amount of coffee beans or bagels, depending on who you are looking for per day, as well. Andre kept searching high and low for his perfect mate and she never appeared in his daily matches. One night just as Andre was about to give up on the app forever, when he stumbled across Bree’s profile. With mutual interests in water activities, traveling and eyes so attractive that he wanted to jump into his screen to meet her right then, She seemed like the perfect match for him. Andre took the plunge and spent the bagels to connect with his potential future wife. Andre to this day doesn't remember what exactly he said in the first message but legend has it (Andre's legend) it was "Smooth AF". Bree, one cold March night, is looking though the potential matches and she is NOT happy with her prospects and is on the verge of taking a dating break when she gets a notification that someone has requested to connect with her. Bree sees that it is Andre’s profile and scrolls through his online life and sees that Andre loves water, animals and an adventurous life full of travel and happiness. She thinks this could be the man of her dreams but is hesitant because he sounds too good to be true. But his cheesy first message made it worth it! Bree swipes yes on Andre and a match is made! Andre, the accountant he is, was working heavily during tax season at Disney. He worked long hours during this time and when he saw that Bree matched with him, Andre was beyond thrilled but worried Bree wouldn’t wait and understand these long hours at Disney during tax season. Little did he know, Bree was extremely understanding, as that was how she was raised. Once tax season ended, Bree and Andre could not wait to meet up, but COVID made them slow down. Once they were both fully vaccinated, they decided to take the risk and meet up for their first date. Andre, the planner that he is, took Bree to an escape room. This was great news for Bree who was a lot nervous and was pretty quiet until it came time to ESCAPE THE ROOM! We went through the Enchanted Escape Room and had to free the genie. We DID escape the room, but we did not want the date to end there. We went to a local bar, The Copper Mine, for some “quick” food and drinks. Mesmerized by Bree's aura, Andre tried foods he would never have tried before and could not get enough of the food or Bree. We talked for hours on end about everything under the sun; growing fond of each other by the minute. Andre continued to order additional apps, not only because the food was great but because he didn't want the date to end. Seconds became minutes, minutes became hours and before either of us could comprehend just how much time had passed, the bartender notified us it was last call and that the bar was closing soon. We had been at the bar for 8 hours and it was 2 am!

Bree and Andre had been dating for over 3 years and Bree was dropping hints like wildfire that she wanted Andre to propose to her. Andre, forever the planner, was listening and picking up all the hints Bree was leaving. Especially about the ring, how the proposal would be perfect and amazing to happen and the biggest hint she had to memorialize the moment with professional photographers! The biggest trip of the year had come, Bree’s birthday trip to Alaska to see the NORTHERN LIGHTS! Bree could not be more excited for the possibility of seeing one of the world’s natural wonders. Andre, on the other hand, could not be more nervous for the big proposal he had planned for during the trip. Andre did a good job of keeping Bree distracted on the planning and before they knew it, it was time to fly to Alaska! Bree and Andre arrive in Alaska to check out the town and all 32,000 of the residents --now it’s crunch time for Andre. But Uhh Ohh, there is a storm rolling in, winter came early this year and is making seeing the stars and the lights nearly impossible. Andre and Bree are both getting upset that they flew all the way to Alaska for the Northern Lights and they are visible in Michigan and not Alaska! Andre decides to take the risk and hopes there is a break in the clouds and they go on the tour to see the Northern Lights. The tour guide drives them 2.5 hours south, close to Canada. Where Andre and Bree FINALLY get to see the Northern Lights. However, the storm is rolling in fast and they only have 30 minutes of clear skies before the clouds catch up to them. It’s now or never Andre thinks. He gives the code phrase “Are we 😉 picture perfect”? And it is TIME. Andre drops to one knee and askes Bree if she will marry him? She obviously said Yes! 💍 As they walked back over to the campfire the tour guides built, Andre told Bree all the reasons he knew she was the one and how much he loved her. The tour guides found another break in the clouds and the newly engaged couple got a second chance to see the Northern Lights! This was incredible and unexpected. The tour guides gathered everyone in the tour together and shot off 2 fireworks 🎆🎇 to celebrate Andre and Bree’s big moment!
