FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Disco chic! Think The Oscars 1979 or Studio 54 at its height...not a Halloween costume. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Vintage is highly encouraged, but most importantly, we want you to come feeling your best and ready to boogie! Check out the "outfit inspiration" tab for more insight.

Question

Are we doing a second line? YES! Bring comfortable shoes!

Answer

We are doing a second line!! A second line is a walking parade led by a brass band, followed by the bride and groom, wedding party, and guests. It's a fun New Orleans tradition that signifies the beginning of a new life together. Please bring comfortable walking shoes. Our route will be a large loop from our venue through the nearby streets and back to our venue. Lara plans on changing into sneakers for the second line and back into heels for the reception. If you prefer to not second line, you may wait in the outside lounge or upstairs area of the venue until we return.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our curly hair is NOT a big fan of any sort of weather so we will be indoors for both the ceremony and reception! The Second Line will be outside.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Check your invitation/ RSVP on our site to see who is included in your party.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. We suggest visiting Sittercity.com to find a babysitter (vet all profiles) if you cannot find other accommodations for them. Please reach out if you have questions!

Question

What is the weather like in January?

Answer

Daytime temperatures are usually mid-60s in January and evening temperatures can be high 40s/low 50s. Please check the weather leading up to your travel for a more accurate estimate!

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP by December 2.

Question

Should I visit Bourbon Street?

Answer

We want everyone to have a good time but we recommend only going out on Bourbon Street after 10 PM if you are in a big group. If you do go-have fun, but just like anywhere be aware of your surroundings (follow the buddy system).

Question

Without a car, how can I get around?

Answer

Uber and Lyft are available in the city. Taxis are all over the city as well. Blair's older brother (still a local) is a big fan of United Cab (504-522-9771)

Question

Are you flying in early/extending and want to see live music?

Answer

We shared some concert venues on the "Things To Do" tab. We also recommend checking out the WWOZ calendar (https://www.wwoz.org/calendar/livewire-music) for upcoming shows.

For all the days along the way
