Thank you, Hinge! Lara Fuhrer and Blair Tanenbaum matched in December 2020 as they were both back home with their families waiting out the latest Covid shutdown in LA. Blair was searching for love.... and Lara, was bored af. After ghosting Blair for 2 weeks straight, she decided to respond. To her surprise, she actually enjoyed talking to him, so much that she agreed to have several Facetime dates before they could meet in person in Los Angeles on February 20, 2021. Again, to her surprise, he was even cuter in person (not more charming but cuter). And just like that, the girl who "hated PDA" was officially on the snuggle train.
As many of you probably know, Lara is incredibly nosy, so surprising her is no easy feat. Blair patiently waited to plan the perfect proposal and weekend, but of course, Lara had to over-schedule them with friends and family visiting LA. Eager to propose, Blair demanded that the following weekend they have "just us time." Real smooth. Naturally, Lara grew suspicious and began asking too many questions. She suspected a Saturday or Sunday proposal- close, but no cigar. Thanks to the help of a few close friends, Blair was still able to pull off the impossible and throw Lara off the scent. She came home one Friday evening to an apartment full of candles and rose petals...and a big bag of presents on the dining room table! Blair had her go through the bag of things that reminded him of her, which included a matching pajama set, an art book, her favorite John Kelly chocolate, romaine lettuce, a funky candle, buffalo cauliflower from Erewhon, nasacort, salt and vinegar chips, and more! After she finished going through the bag, he got down on one knee and well, you're invited to the wedding, so it's clear she said Yes!!
