Question

COVID-19

Answer

As we're sure you can imagine, we're closely monitoring the COVID-19 numbers and the spread of the Delta variant. It is our belief that we will be able to move forward with our events as planned, but please know that your health and safety are our priority. As such, we respectfully request that you do not attend our wedding unless you are fully vaccinated. If you have not yet received a vaccine and would like to celebrate with us in person, there is still time to get your shots before October 16th. We understand that this might not be possible for everyone, and we will miss those of you unable to join us. We will continue to assess the situation and we will be following all CDC guidelines as well as local and state ordinances. And, we will keep you updated if any protocols should change. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Children

Answer

Although we adore your children, the wedding events are planned just for adults. We hope you understand!

Question

Getting to Maine

Answer

We know that Northeast Harbor is not the most convenient location for many of you, but we promise it's worth the trip! If driving, it is about five hours from Boston and just over eight hours from New York City. If flying, we recommend the Bangor Airport, which is just over an hour from NEH. Alternatively, the Bar Harbor Airport is a 20-minute drive and has daily flights from Boston. If you don't mind a three-hour drive after you land, the Portland Airport (PWM) has the largest list of flight options. For more information on nearby airports and hotels, please visit our Travel & Accommodations website page.

Question

Getting Around MDI

Answer

We strongly recommend renting a car at the airport. Lyft and Uber haven't quite made it to the island, and taxis are limited and by reservation only. We have included links on our Travel & Accommodations website page to the rental car sections on the Bar Harbor and Bangor airport websites.

Question

Transportation on October 16th

Answer

We will provide transportation to and from the wedding, reception, and both hotels. As of now, we have Oli's Trolley scheduled to transport guests from the Asticou and Kimball Terrace Inn to St. Mary's-by-Sea at 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM. After the ceremony, the trollies will take guests to the Henry R. Abel & Co. Yacht Yard for the reception. Starting at 9:30 PM, the trollies will offer regular trips back to the Asticou and Kimball Terrace Inn. Please check back closer to the wedding weekend for an updated schedule.

Question

Food & Drink on October 16th

Answer

There will not be a formal seated dinner at the reception, but we will have plenty of food & drink available throughout the evening. Please let us know if you have any food allergies.

Question

NEH Main Street

Answer

Northeast Harbor's Main Street is home to many of our favorite stores and restaurants, and we hope that you'll have a chance to explore the area and support the local businesses while you're in town. We've included a few of our favorite spots on our Things To Do website page.

Question

Acadia National Park

Answer

Northeast Harbor is located just next door to Acadia National Park, one of the top ten most-visited national parks in the United States. The park contains 27 miles of historic motor roads, 158 miles of hiking trails, and 45 miles of carriage roads. For a list of some of our favorite walks, hikes, and more, please visit our Things To Do website page. Please note that entrance passes are required for the park.
