FAQs

We know you might have questions so here's some information that might help. Feel free to contact either of us if you want to ask anything else.
Question

House Rules

Answer

Sorry to have to have a section on rules... But here we go: - No smoking in the house (Please stub out any cigarettes in the ashtrays provided outside) - If you've had any drinks DO NOT operate any machinery that may be on site - Please respect privacy of each others rooms. We feel like this is a given. - If you have any dirty shoes please keep them at the doors, and not to be worn upstairs on the carpets. - If something goes wrong in the house or breakages occur then please give us a shout to sort it.

Question

For the Canadians - UK Entry Requirements

Answer

Make sure your passport has a minimum of 6 months before expiry and is not damaged. This website may be helpful if you have any other queries -https://travel.gc.ca/destinations/united-kingdom

Question

Travel

Answer

Car: -There is enough parking for everyone at the venue. - For people unfamiliar with UK roads we don't recommend driving. Train: - If travelling from London; use London Paddington station to Bristol, then change to the train for Cam & Dursley (The closest stop to us) Plane: - The best airports for people flying in are Heathrow & Gatwick. Both are just outside of London. Regardless of airline choice, flights are usually cheaper to Gatwick but the location of Heathrow is slightly better. - Most flights are redeye and arrive midday with 1-2 hours to go through customs - From Gatwick it'll take another 2.5 hours to travel to the venue by car - From Heathrow it'll take around 2 hours to travel to the venue by car - Trains are available from both airports with transfers in London. We recommend booking your train tickets in advance (can be done from 3 months before) to secure cheaper fares. - If everyone can manage to meet up at 1 location on the Friday we can organise bus transfer straight to the venue.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Clothes! Obviously. Especially if you're venturing into the house at night! For the Saturday please wear something semi-formal that you're comfortable in. Weather dependant we may use the space outside which is on grass so be aware if wearing heels. Because of the location of the house being in the countryside we would recommend bringing walking attire if you fancy a stroll. The rest of the weekend is casual so please wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Comfy clothes, all the way up to a full suit; whatever you desire. There may also be some lawn games so bring something you don't mind getting a little dirty.

Question

Food & Drink

Answer

- Tea, Coffee, milk, juices, alcohol & mixers will all be provided. We will ask closer to the date if you'd like anything specific. Also feel free to BYOB. - We plan to serve a buffet style dinner (Friday) and help yourself snacks and lunches over the weekend. There will be a formal dinner (TBC) on the Saturday evening. If you have something specific you would like, allergies or any dietary requirements please let us know. Feel free to bring whatever you fancy especially if it's to share!

Question

Towels & Bedding

Answer

All are provided. There's plenty of garden space so feel free to bring a picnic blanket if you have one.

Question

Are there planned activities?

Answer

We'll hope that you'll enjoy & discover all the amenities of the house. We don't want to spoil anything but please rest assured there will be something for everyone - Just bring yourselves and the rest is provided. The only structured activities we have planned are the wedding ceremony and dinner afterwards. Otherwise the weekend is a chance for everyone to celebrate and come together, but please feel free to do your own thing.

Question

Who's Attending?

Answer

We want to keep things intimate and due to the size of the venue we're unable to accommodate any additional guests. Please see who's who page to get to know the other attendees.

Question

Should we bring gifts or cards?

Answer

NO GIFTS please! If you wish to, you may bring a postcard (of absolutely anything) so we can add this to our ever growing postcard gallery wall in our house.
