Looking forward to 7/10/21!

Every great love story starts with mutual friends introducing two soulmates who are about to travel the world together, right? Thought so. It was summer 2013 that Bjorn and Liza were introduced during Sigma Phi Epsilon summer live-in. Our first encounters? Bjorn (VP of Finance) asking Liza to pay her summer rent. SigEp rooftop happy hours. Fall football gamedays! Then in January 2014, embarking on a study abroad trip for the books. The next 3 months in Rome, Italy would change our lives forever. Amongst a few hours of schoolwork there were weekend trips to Florence/Naples/Venice, gelato dates (of which Liza paid for the first one), taco Tuesdays, Liza's first tattoo (Live a Little!!!!), capped off with a long weekend in Paris, France in March to end the trip. We both graduated from the University of Washington in June 2014, and as Liza was taking off for Hawaii for a post-grad trip Bjorn wasn't going to let her leave without letting her know how he really felt. He popped the first question, and she said yes! To being his girlfriend :) Fast forward nearly 7 years and they have: - Visited Liza's family hometown in San Isidro, Jalisco, Mexico - Hiked the 14-day Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal - Wandered the ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru - Taken excursions to NYC, Chicago, Santa Monica, Vegas, Kauai, Seaside, Vancouver BC, and Puerto Vallarta - Cheered loudly at Seahawks games, UW Football games, Seattle Sounders and Mariners games - Split Thanksgiving, Christmas and special occasions between Seattle & Walla Walla - Frequented Zac Brown Band concerts across the state - Discovered ramen, tacos, vino, and John Legend as some mutual favorites - Awesome careers in dental hygiene & accounting consulting - Popped the 2nd question! Bjorn proposed in Walla Walla, WA on 3/16/19 It has been an incredible journey, and the best is yet to come - we can't wait to celebrate our love with our closest friends and family!!

In March 2019, I was planning a trip home to visit my mom for her birthday. I had a big board exam to pass first before making the trip. I kept asking Bjorn to make the trip with me but he was traveling for work. He claimed he would be too exhausted to fly to Walla Walla. I pushed a little more (like I always do) but he didn’t budge. I made the trip home without him..or so I thought. That Saturday we were going to get our nails done & wine taste after to celebrate my mom’s birthday & passing my board exam. Nails were done and a little while later we head to the winery (Garrison Creek Cellars) for our tasting appointment. We’re pulling up to the winery and my jaw drops because of how stunning the winery is. I send Bjorn a video because I am in awe of this winery. Little did I know Bjorn was about 300 ft away from me. So it’s my mom and my 3 sisters who walk in and I see the empty wine glasses and the winery informs us that we would get a quick tour. We all begin our tour by walking outside first. There are snow patches on the ground, I’m fumbling to get my footing and as I look up I see Bjorn come around a pillar with a bouquet of flowers (I always tell Bjorn not to spend money on flowers so when I see this I think WOW THIS MUST BE A BIG DEAL). I start to walk out towards him and realize all eyes are on us. I look back at Bjorn and I can see the nerves on his face. That’s when I realize that IT IS HAPPENING..THIS IS IT. I walk out towards him and give him a big hug and I can feel and hear the nerves going through his body. The BIG moment was when Bjorn got down on one knee and said, “you never have to choose between me and your family because soon we’ll be family, WILL YOU MARRY ME?” or something close to this because I honestly was so shocked the whole time!) I answered with a big hug/kiss & a hell yes! Everything about that day was beyond perfect and couldn’t imagine any other way to committing to my person for the rest of our lives.
